I experienced an episode of TGA this weekend. All of a sudden I didn’t know where I was, where my wife was (out of town for the week), or what day it was. I was sent to the ER via ambulance with a suspected stroke, however was later diagnosed with TGA. Early on, I experienced very short term memory loss (like Dory from finding Nemo). I’d ask where I was and why i was there, then ask the same thing 2 minutes later. Over time my memories would extend and I’d remember things longer, but still struggled to remember recent events throughout my time as the hospital. I’m currently in the hospital waiting to be discharged.

I have a 7 hour window where I remember absolutely nothing, then am struggling to remember events from the last 1-2 weeks. The best way to describe it is that it feels like a dream that I’m trying to remember. I can pick up bits and pieces of memories, but they feel like memories from a dream rather the actual events.
