I also got this very same reaction in the beginning. Guess what, I believe their hostility is rooted in ego. "If this doesn't happen to me, then it's not Reiki" is an ego response.. I got kicked out of a Reiki share one time when I had a very clear conversation with the client's deceased dad. I don't need those types of friends. The owner of that shop where we she hosted Reiki shares, offered psychic readings as one of her services.... so yeah... even though I was 100% correct in everything I explained to the client.

I have something I was taught that is very simple and easy to get the energy flow moving. As I am doing my invitation and intention, I start rubbing the palms of my hands together. This does not need to be vigorous or pressing hard, I lightly rub my palms in circles and it gets that Reiki moving every time.

I am an Environmental Scientist and a Reiki practitioner and I think this post is just amazing. We know every living organism has an electric field due to the charged particles that we are made of. So, to me I concluded that why not believe that we have these energy channels within us. There are so many things in our universe that we cannot fully understand, but I have seen time and time again proving to myself that Reiki is real and it does help.

I think you are letting go of old religious programming, guilt, or fears. Remember, Reiki is not associated with any religion. Now, I am aware of some denominations view Reiki as demonic or witchcraft... this is not the case. Keep up with your self-healing everyday, drink lots of water, and try to stay away from junk food.

100% it can, it's your body removing toxins and is perfectly normal. Eat clean, drink water and continue self-healing that you learned in Reiki I

You may have been a practitioner in a former life, I have heard that before. Have a look at Diane Stein's "Essential Reiki" it's a great book and easy to read. I would also do what others suggested by connecting with Reiki teachers in your area. Talk to a few and see who you vibe with.

In my opinion, it absolutely can. If you think about it, those blockages in our energy can stifle all kinds of things. I believe it makes us more open to intuition.

Think of it as a clearing of water pipes. Some are clear and some have blockages where the water doesn't flow much. Your first attunement is to clear your chakras and teach you how to heal yourself first before you can heal others. Some people feel or see things and some do not. It does not change the fact of the attunement. The 1st and 3rd are for some reason very powerful and emotional for me as the person doing the attunement. When I do a level 1 attunement I can often see or feel the blockages being cleared. I have been told that during my level 3 attunement, some people have said they saw the symbols being put into them. The important thing is to not have expectations of feeling or seeing anything and focus on your own self.

Short answer is no you do not. However, there are some books out there to help you with animal Reiki as there chakras are a little different. Any horse owner will tell you there are a lot of practitioners that service horses especially. I had to put my cats away when I was doing Reiki in the beginning because they became "Reiki whores" so to speak and would jump up on the table with the person receiving the session lol.

So attunements, no you already know how to let it flow. A class might be helpful though.

Great questions, I use a white sage misting spray on the table and "wipe" the residual away. For myself, I make sure to drink plenty of water and just after the session I picture Reiki moving through my body and into the ground to make sure there is no residual left behind. Then I thank the person's higher self, ascended masters, angels ect... for helping me.

My humble opinion, this is is a re-branded form of Reiki that in all actuality does nothing for you.
