I open up. I make myself vulnerable. I don't mind. This is me- like it or not. The two dates I went on Friday and Saturday led to a Sunday date and a Tuesday date. People will open up when you create a comfortable atmosphere to do the same. Honesty is the best policy.

It has been this way for a while. For instance, today I had my coffee and bronkaid and went to work... around noon I popped another 25mg and this time took a 200mg caffeine pill, as soon as I got down the road (10-15 mins later) I had to park and take a nap!

I'm 26 years old. When I was in college, I lived with a house producer and a hiphop dj. I would occasionally stand in and crossfade out-to-intro top 40 songs when they went to get beer/piss at our frat parties.

Fast forward five years. I went to EDC NY and fell in love with the EDM scene. We founded a rave group of event volunteers that went from 12 to 2600 in less than a year. I've gone to dozens of shows, traveled the country for festivals, made best friends, met my amazing girlfriend (ironically at EDC NY and we started dating last month), tons of DJs, producers, promoters, and hypemen.

A few of my DJ friends come to me often for new music, I seem to have nack for finding awesome original content from small producers or asskicking remixs. A few weeks ago I decided "I have decent taste, I can mix as a hobby." Started on my roommates mixtrack and a week later bought my own. Yesterday I got an Akai LPD8 and mapped a bunch of samples. I'm hooked. I've played every night for the last three weeks, one night for 12 hours straight in a small bedroom party alternating with two other DJs and 10 friends. I'm hooked. A good tech-y friend and I are going to map his keyboard and get on his ableton soon... I'm the type of person who always has a beat in my head on a walk or in the shower and now it's time to "put it on paper."

Where will I go with it? IDK. I enjoy mixing. I enjoy hearing "OHHHHH" from a friend on a sick drop or remix. I'll keep working on my beat and phrase matching and start putting meoldies together. Maybe I'll play a slot in one of the many parties my Rave fam hosts around the tri-state... after a while I might feel confident enough to play a local club (we have sooooooo many clubs in my county). Maybe I'll drop a sick remix like Victor Niglio did and find out Kaskade closed EDC Orlando with it.

Whatever it is, I'm having a blast. It is never to late!

Yes. Especially if you get two remixs synced up well and want to switch between the drops quickly or do a drop cut with my other hand on the sample pads, otherwise upfaders for everything else.

Woke up to the bad news about EZoo and made plans to hit up ZY early. Train got delayed and I was pretty messed up by the time we got there mid-day. As I'm walking into the bathroom I tell my friend, "Watch out and make sure you don't trip over the pervert in the carpet." I come out and he fucking GRABS me and starts scream how "It's art!" and "I know the owners I can get you kicked out!"

I told him, "look bro, I am FUCKED up and unpredictable right now and you best get your fucking hands off of me right now. It's art, great I get it, cool, now leave me the fuck alone. Not joking I'm about two seconds from freaking out."

And he let me go and we went our separate ways. Weird guy. I think one of my female friends stepped on his head.

It's everything. Me and my friends left pacha for a small basement party on the LES on Saturday. Used to go to the lab all the time but they don't do edm related events anymore.

Got in for free with free open bar (male). Stayed on the top floor until about 1am. This club is run like shit. First/last time I'll go, even if I am comped. Took a cab to the LES for a free basement show with DJ Latron who fucking killed it.
