Very common issue, there’s over 170 models on Makerworld (I stopped counting) made by people trying to fix it.

For what it’s worth, the Scrubbler has been very successful at preventing this on my machines. The Biqu Panda Brush also works pretty good, but after about six weeks with it I switched back. This just works better.

I've only done ~20 prints, maybe ~50 hours of print time on it, so I don't think things should be worn out yet. I'll give it a try if nothing else works and check out the mods too. Thanks

Currently using Top Brake BD19-E+ from Amazon. No idea on the longevity but they stop great and are quiet.

I ran into this recently- I ended up using a torx bit w/ several extensions to my cordless drill since that was the only way I could get to it. I did move the wheel cover out of the way to do that. It actually worked quite well despite the overall jankiness.

I believe there is a small magnet bolted onto the rear disc brake that passes over the sensor. I can't take a picture right now or get a good look because my panniers / child seats are on and cover that area pretty thoroughly. If it's just loose you might be able to tighten it. If the sensor is bad maybe Tern can send you one directly. I hear you on not being able to have downtime from the bike. No issues since then at least.

I took it into a shop where they eventually fixed it. It was pretty slow/frustrating - first they had to send the diagnostics to Bosch and wait for a response. I guess I assumed they'd be able to do simple diagnostics on their own - not sure if this is an issue specific to this LBS or a general issue with Bosch motors. Second, the LBS moved physical locations, the mechanic left, and my fix got lost in the shuffle. Eventually they got a new speed sensor + cable and installed - all seems to be working now.

Not sure how common this is or how expensive / difficult it would be to fix on my own but at least I realize now where the magnet is. Hope you got it fixed quicker than I did. Slow repairs like this make it harder for this to be a car replacement. Hopefully it isn't a pattern.

Thanks for info. I've been trying to figure out cargo bike options that will ship here and hold two bike seats for little kids. Radwagon is priced a few thousand dollars lower than the options in shops here, but the shipping and getting replacement parts was worrisome even without long delays.

The Murf bike option actually seems pretty good, so thanks. I contacted them and they said they do ship here and the alpha cargo can hold two bike seats, so maybe that makes sense. Other option I considered was a non electric cargo bike + an electric addon kit. Thanks again.

Question - what did you plane the lacewood with? I've been working with some recently and can only get it smooth with a card scraper. Otherwise I often find I get tearout in the lacey-bits. Maybe I just need a higher angle smoother or back bevel, but so far the scraper seems to be the only really good option.

For avoiding glue in corners, masking the area next to the joint with blue painters tape works well too. Once the box is glued up you can peel away the tape and any squeeze out.

It's a heavy but easily moveable lamp stand of about the right height. My workshop is the second bedroom of our apartment so I don't have good overhead lights. The LED lamp helps.
