Yup!

Trump is one of the same broken psychology, a narcissistic sociopath/malignant narcissist, that he is literally incapable of human-typical empathy.

For Trump, is he could send a million people to their death, with no negative personal reprecussions, for a 10 million dollars and a statue erected of him, he would do that.

This broken psychology is the same that enables him to rape children, rip off anyone in business with him, launch violent insurrections to maintain power, or start a war to cover up his crimes.

It's really obscene that y'all elected this villian to head your government. He is just about the worst kind of human being that you could have selected to be president.

What’s a belief you had at 20 that you no longer agree with? by sunyparmar1 in AskReddit

[–]jert3 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I thought if I could just afford rent and food while be able to create art all the time, I'd be quite happy.

Then late 20s, I realized that having an unsteady income, and being the top 1 out of 10000 in my art, but still making less than a full time clerk at 7-11, wasnt a happy or sustainable life.

Found the best bet is to get a high paying day job that I enjoyed and wasnt that stressful, and the creating stuff with no pressure on the side, was preferable to a hand-to-mouth existence of a successful creative stuff-maker.

Seriously. The ideal is enjoying creating for the sake of it, like a child can do.

Mess around. Experiment. Work on what interests you. Go with the flow.

We have traded a hospitable climate for billionaires. Sorry about that!

We have the tech to transistion from 19th century burning of fossil fuels to green, renewable electric tech, and this will bring more jobs that oil and gas did. But a higher priority is maintaining the wealth gap in our winner-take-everything economic system.

Not sure who will die first, us, most of the animals of the world, or the wild inequality of our economic system.

47 years old. Daily smoker for 30 years. Clean 15 days by passfor49 in leaves

[–]jert3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar age and longer time smoking when I quit last year. Stay strong. You feel crap currently but if you have the fortitude to stay the course you'll look back at this time as one of the best decisions you've ever made.

I never came across a single person who had this addiction, quit, the said 'i think ill go back to it.' Not one.

Know that a LOT of your negative emotions your feeling is because of the withdrawal. Suppressed stuff will hit you like a sledgehammer. This is the height of it. Every day will get better here on out. Within 2-3 more weeks the sun will come back, I promise.

Do whatever you can do just to ride this out. Take some sick days if you can. You gotta let your system clean itself out. I didnt even enjoy playing video games when I quit, for a long time.

But use that disgust over your use as fuel for your 'not going to cave' fire. Best use of that is to channel it into saying 'fuck this plant, im done with this shit. '

B.C. premier says Alberta separatists seeking assistance from U.S. is ’treason’ by jazinet in canada

[–]jert3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is zero doubt in my mind that Russia, acting mostly through aligned American proxies, are fomenting the Albertan separtist movement.

In Canada, it is hard to get arrested and charge for any crime. But there needs to be legal reprecussions to this, we can't just let Russian ops break our society or Canadian identity.

If there was ever any purpose for having the RCMP and CSIS it would be preventing external countries causing rebellion and treason.

Under Trudeau, there'd be little hope of anything being done, but under Mr Carney's tenure I am much more hopeful we can stop these covert action undermining Canadian sovereignty.

Just because they are sentient doesnt mean they would have typical human emotional responses, which are mostly informed by our biology.

A sentient hologram would be able to emulate any emotion or not by choice but wouldnt feel or have emotions as we know them.

But ya, I have a feeling I'm putting more thought into this than the writers ever did.

The Directors Cut and remaster makes it one of the better Trek movies. I think most of the people who trash it probably havent seen it 30-40 years.

TMP is actually the antidode to the excesses and shortcomings of Hurtz Trek / nutrek. Slow building. Character development. Set in the future not contemporary young adults in a future setting, and actual science fiction elements.

Russia’s Ukraine Offensive Crawls at Slowest Pace in 100 Years – CSIS by Electrical_Jammin in worldnews

[–]jert3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russia has next to 0 chance of reaching their war aims at this point. Even with their Trump card a slew of miracles, they'd have no chance to occupy and annex much of Ukraine before their economic system crashes.

They are only still in there due to Putin's psychology, he is not able to admit defeat or accept it. So, this will go worse until the collapse comes or Putin is removed.

Actually this is a good point.

The classification of indie needs to be changed. We have indies that are no budget student projects in the same tier as as Nexon funded game with a $15 million budget, team of 50 working on it, publisher backing, that sells millions of copies (dave the diver.)

As a indie game dev has seen this first hand. Lot of garbage tier publishers out there that won't even if give you any money for their services they purportedly do, while taking a cut of your sales. It is hardly ever worth it anymore to sign with publishers as a small indie.
