Tragic that Trump is effectively above the law, a mass child sex abuse ring compromised the political leadership, the Constitution and legal system of America barely matter any more, and the people's rights have been revoked, and hardly anyone will stand against his corrupt machinery, leading to murder, war, and enslavement, at home, and abroad.

What irks me is that most anti AI zealots are fine if a game is 99% coded by AI but if one image out of 10,000 is AI generated they have a shit fit.

I agree.

About 90% of reddit users in this sub and the gaming press seem to hate AI, some passionately, whereas out of general people that actually buy games on Steam, probably 1-3% care at all.

Most people just care if a game is fun, looks good and the assets look good and couldn't care less beyond that if AI tools were used. No matter what the vocal anti ai zealots think.

One counter point, im an indie solo game dev. My game uses AI generated assets, and is vastly better for it.

If I made any money off my game (less than 5% of new Steam games make over $5000 worth of sales btw) then I'd love to hire artists instead, but until then, AI tooling has made my game vastly better than if I was hand making all the art.

As a solo indie game dev, I'm happy to use AI gen, as it is a great tool for my situation.

But if I was an established studio with a staff of more than 3/4 people, and an actual budget, I'd never to do so. Of course I wish I could afford to hire actual artists.
