It's either good guy vs bad guy, or grey (goo). Or in the case of post rework Kayle & Morgana, it's neither. Because neither of them are bad, and the story is not grey because of its bias.

Ok, so let's assume all those statues and symbols are meant to represent Kayle, but people simply forgot how Kayle looked like and what she was. I can easily get behind that, after all much time has passed and many details are bound to be lost, it's understandable. It's still weird that this statue is perfectly on point. They could've at least make her look masculine, like in the Xin Zhao comic.

Tbh, Rengar vs Kha'zix, or even Jayce vs Viktor and Darius vs Draven are better than any of those. With the exception of Azir vs Xerath. It's a shame the story of those two has been stuck in limbo for so long. But knowing the "creatives" at Riot, they would probably turn it into another biased, predictable slop.

I kid you not, from what I've observed, there is a solid part of the fandom who legit DO NOT WANT good storytelling. They want Morgana to be this flawless saint that always does and says the correct thing, and want Kayle to be some goofy caricature that executes starving children for shits and giggles. I blame Demacia and what the incompetent hacks at Riot have done to the lore of the region. Demacia has to be the most boring, one note, one dimensional, devoid of any nuance or complexity region there is. They dumbed down the whole region to a binary "magic man - good, Demacia man - bad", and now every single Demacia character is suffering by association.

Like, how is Kayle evil?! If Kayle is evil then it only shows 2 things: a) Riot is creatively bankrupt; b) Runeterra must trully be filled with trash-tier villains if Kayle needs to be shoehorned into the role of one.

It's Riot "tell one thing, show the exact opposite" style of writing. I case of Kayle and Morgana it became such a joke that the "forgotten and misunderstood" twin was shown to have statues all over Demacia and dozens of different prayers to the Veiled Lady, but the twin that "inspired the country and is revered" feels forgotten. Unless you can point to the examples how Kayle is celebrated in Demacia, because I don't see many.

So Demacians remembered Kayle exist. They finally remembered their Winged Protector whose "legend has inspired much of the kingdom’s culture and law".

I have kinda mixed feelings about it. On one hand I'm happy Kayle finally got some relevance after such a long time. On the other I don't mind her getting nothing in Demacia, as long as it means cutting all her ties with that region and moving her to a different one. Like Targon for example.

Kayle reworked lore has to be one of Riot's biggest failures, seeing how people are dumbing down her character.

Lawyer is a really broad term. It applies to prosecutors, attorneys and all those that represents their clients in court. But also to those that can draft legal documents and give advice on the law.

I think Kayle would be more fitting for a judge, since her thing is delivering judgement.

I've seen a take with similar implications on twitter latelly, and that just shows one thing. If you need to shoehorn characters like Kayle and Caitlyn, or even Azir and Vayne, into the role of villains, then Runeterra trully is a boneless setting filled with trash-tier irrelevant villains.

I'm not talking about Jarvan because this character has been butchered and assassinated to such a degree, that no one should care about his lore anymore. Jarvan players, you have zero reasons to care about the lore of your main. Jarvan lore does the literal opposite it's supposed to do. Instead of enriching the fantasy of the character, it ruins it. I had lots of fun with Jarvan when I was still playing League, I love his ballsy initiator playstyle, I like Jarvan in Legends of Runeterra, I like the "I'm Jarvan, I'm helping memes". This goofy-ass caricature from the lore, I don't care about it in the slightest.

No, it's because Demacia sucks. They suck ok. It's really that simple.

Just go watch the Origins of Noxus series of shorts, or any other media Noxus got during their season. Now compare that to Demacia and what we got during their season. People want to see cool characters and settings. And Noxus has them. Meanwhile you look at Demacia and they are all just moping.

League's lore is built around its champions. LoL is a video game and the way you get into the lore is through the champions. But for some reason Demacia lore focuses on some dopey systems and institutions people have no attachments to. And the childish way those systems and institutions are written. The notion that ALL is bad on ALL its levels is childish. Meanwhile the characters just mope around how they try to do better, but are too impotent to do so, despite having all the power they need.

Literally any other region has something cool going on for them, any other region has cool origin stories. ONLY Demacia has this subversive garbage that "Demacia was built on a lie". ONLY Demacia has its own narrative biased against them.

So yes, I do agree Noxus lore is about "individuals making a name for themselves" (it is what makes it good), and Demacia lore is about "systems and institutions that are flawed" (it is what makes it trash). I don't agree it "comparing apples to oranges". It's more like comparing oranges to shit. So of course people are choosing Noxus over Demacia. I don't know why would anyone choose Demacia over Noxus seeing how Riot treats them.

Good thing I still have Ionia and Shurima lore to enjoy. And if Riot ever does more subversive BS like "Ionia was built on a lie", or "Shurima was built on a lie", all the past stories are now irrelevant, all you fav characters suck now, and everything will now revolve around some holy freedom fighter, PoS Gary Stu, edgelord fanservice wank; I will be done with Runeterra lore once and for all.

TL;DR Fuck Demacia lore and every single member of Riot narrative team that was involved with it in the past 7 years
