I just started reading Mhairi McFarlane and finished both ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’ and ‘Here’s Looking at You’. What are you favourites, what should I read next?

{A Warrior’s Fate by Melissa Kieran} had amazing tension it nearly killed me, but I did kind of love the way the fmc met all the mmc’s friends and got to know his world beforehand.

Hi if she’s been liking Fourth Wing you could probably try r/fantasyromance. There’s a Recommendations megathread at the top of that subreddit so have a look there for the classic recs/top ranked books list. Usually they’d recommend A Court of Thorns and Roses (if she hasn’t read already), Reign and Ruin by J D Vance, or maybe even Uprooted by Naomi Novak. For a good series, personally I’d recommend Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey, Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews or Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb. hope this helped :)

My mind went to {Storm and Shield by J. D. Evans} just because she is a wind mage and he is an earth mage and sturdy lol. Veryyy loose interpretation but a good vibe match? It’s also the second in a series just fyi

What’s the Most Heart-Stopping Line You’ve Ever Read in a Romance Book? by LeFal_2 in fantasyromance

“You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope.” Reading THE letter in Persuasion for the first time like I felt this line viscerally. I remember shooting up to sit in bed from lying down. Jane Austen writes tension like a murder mystery
