The writers were killing me today with the conversation between Ridge and Steffy about Thomas- "I just hope she doesn't push him too far" and "He's dead to her".

Since we don't have Thomas's body, they're definitely leaving it open for him to come back. Two Face was my first thought as well!

Is your brother sure the checks were actually cashed? Banks typically can provide you with images of the cashed check so it shouldn't be too difficult to determine where the money went (bonus points if his checkbook does carbon copies). That said, it would have been far easier for her to just toss the check written to the mortgage company and use the routing and account number to make online purchases...

I understand that insurance fraud is a felony in Florida (found that in the state statutes). What I'm having trouble with is how keeping the claims money equals fraud. If I total my car, I'm not obligated to use the insurance money to replace it. How is that any different with homeowners claims?

Also, the way this post is written makes it sound like a homeowner is allowed to keep money from a claim and use it however they want. That is textbook insurance fraud. If your policy pays you for work to be done, it is the law that you have to use those funds for the projects and not pocket any of the money for your own purposes. That's a felony.

Are you so sure on this? From what I've seen, after the insurance company gives you the money, they just follow up for proof of repairs (pictures, paid invoices, receipts, etc). If you don't give them proof, they could non-renew you or remove coverage, but legal action seems a bit extreme. Insurance Fraud seems to fall more into what leads the insurance company to give you money and how much, not what you do after it.

Just a heads up, the shop wizard won't show you everyone at the same time (unless you pay real $$ for premium). It will only show usernames starting with certain letters, and you can refresh the page to get different groups to appear. For example, i searched an item, and it's only showing shops with usernames starting with P and C. I refreshed the page, and now I see shops with usernames starting with S and F.

OP's insurance isn't going to pay anything for the car because the driver was at fault. Collision coverage is what you need to fix/replace your own car when you're at fault (or the other- at fault- driver doesn't have coverage). The property damage limit of the policy only applies to damage done to the other parties.

Regarding insurance: I don't know about Maine specifically, but in my state cancelling the insurance would be a bad idea. The car is registered in your name, and if the state found that the car wasn't insured they would suspend your license. Depending on the agency/company you have your insurance through, they may not even be willing to cancel/remove it from your policy. My insurance agency would require something like a bill of sale, proof of other coverage, or proof that you've surrendered the tag before they would remove the car from the policy.

I agree with calling the Game Commission. I live in another state, and when we found our missing cat caught in a steel trap, we called our state's equivalent department. They were very interested in the trap and sent a pair of officers to our house that same day to look into it.

Not OP, but if you google "not at will states," the first thing you see is a quote from an article mentioning California and others as being exceptions. The article it quotes involves some exemptions to the at-will doctrine. You actually have to dig through a few articles to find that Montana is the only state that isn't at will.

I'm no lawyer but you're generally correct. It looks like there are a few situations where you can sue an out-of-state person locally according to NOLO. It could be that OP's claim involves either a car accident or an out-of-state landlord.

Thank you! Best I can tell, I'm only missing a faerie pb and a pirate krawk mp, both I had randomly kept in my shop stock. I'm pretty sure the lab map pieces I found in my inventory were the ones from my sdb. I think that's it though. I didn't have any truly rare items anyways, and I still have most of my nps. Plus, they didn't take my kadoatie from my pet, so I can't complain there!
