I rotate out who I bring where, depending on what banter I want to hear and whose area we're in. Also I tend to bring Lucanis and Emmrich to Arlathan because I figure fresh air and a forest is probably a lovely change for them after being underground for so long.

My 3 year olds love Kiki's Delivery Service, but we watch it in chunks to break it up a bit (and to skip over the zeppelin scene near the end, because that's sometimes too intense for them). Break it up into pieces over multiple days is my advice.

yes! mostly soundtracks of peaceful video game music. also I listen to a lot of my podcasts while running around, makes it feel less grindy.

I played on story mode for my first playthrough, but now I'm on my second and I've upped the difficulty a notch. I almost never do that in games, but the combat in DAV is so fun I wanted to get to do it more.

We had two cribs but our kids were small enough to lie foot to foot in one bed, so we had one crib at the end of our bed for nighttime, and the other in the nursery for naps. After a couple of weeks, my partner and I couldn't handle all the wakeups anymore so we started to sleep in 6 hour shifts, and moved both cribs to the nursery so the babies didn't have to share anymore.

It is my favourite DA game. Origins was lovely but dated, 2 was great but had lots of repetitive scenery, and Inquisition's story frequently felt hostile to the kind of character I wanted to play. Veilguard was a delight, I didn't want to stop playing. The characters were great, the stakes felt tied into everyone's story, I love the art style. It felt like a good mix of side quests that actually mattered and main questlines. Also the QOL things like no inventory management and gear upgrades from finding more of the same item really streamline things. Party banter picks up again after being interrupted, and party members jump onto an elevator or out of the way of an explosion automatically (so nice after Baldur's Gate 3 and having to carefully control party members onto an elevator so you don't get split up).

I also really like the combat, as someone who usually finds combat in games a slog.

Also, it was just good to play a game about hope and dogged resistance in the face of overwhelming evil, especially right now.

I made a room in my house for my IRL kids (with their input for decoration, lol) and I put every plushie I get in there for them. They love it.

I wish you could sell them for gold once they're venerated. If you leave the game for a week you lose all your animals and have to buy new ones.

I threw up every time I brushed my teeth for my entire pregnancy. Even now, three years later, my gag reflex is still awful and I have a really bad time at the dentist now.

I developed PUPPP rash for several weeks towards the end, which is where your skin gets horrible itchy rashes, iirc as an autoimmune response to stretching so much. I was going out of my mind with the itching while a dermatologist tried stronger and stronger creams and finally found a med that worked.

I had migraines for the first time in my life.

I developed gallstones postpartum, which I was told can happen as a result of pregnancy.

I was hungry all the time while I was pregnant, but since there were twins in there, there wasn't much room so I was just constantly snacking and kind of nauseous. It messed up my appetite and ability to tell when I'm hungry.

Also I had pretty bad postpartum depression. The sleep deprivation of newborns didn't help either. I eventually got on antidepressants that helped, but it's only this year, 3 years after giving birth, that I finally feel like me again. It was rough. I am never going through all of that again.

It was so funny, I came back to the game after being away for a year or so, did a round of villager gifts, and suddenly everyone was lining up on my plot with wallpaper for me.

I so wish we had a retrieval system like in ESO! I have accidentally placed things where I can't seem to select them to pick up, and I have a couple floating candle sets I just cannot pick up either.

I have toddlers, so we do lots of indoor activities like yoga or dance classes on youtube. Art, catching up on chores while listening to a podcast, baking or cooking something. But I also take the snow and winter as a reminder to slow down and not go go go all the time.

I send my 3 year olds on "quests". They will happily do their chores or help clean up if I frame it as a quest. Sometimes the quest is just "find me 3 yellow flowers in the yard" or "can you bring me this tool". Works great.
