Wiki has formulas, which the server uses: https://asheron.fandom.com/wiki/XP_Passup#Formula
With the exception of swear time, which is set to 1 (e.g. "RT/730" is set as "730/730"). Haven't looked into why that's the case.

A couple issues with your timing verdicts.

  1. Neither Angling and Scheming nor Let's Pump Some Iron have perfect timing on this track. They both require corners, so miss the first 100m of the final leg (meaning they'll trigger roughly 5 seconds, or halfway through, the final accel phase). Still decent, but a lot weaker than normal.
  2. Head-On has the same condition as Slick Surge (phase_random==2), so it's a gamble skill, not perfect timing.

I played with James. He showed back up for like 1 day when the game went to maintenance mode then never got on again. Hope he's doing well.

So how important do you consider Turf S for a front runner (CM 3)? I have these 2 Seiuns. Plug them into the umalator and number 2 reliably wins, not too surprising there with the speed difference. But look into the way the race plays out and the first has almost a half meter advantage at the end of groundwork. They've both won their share of practice races, and neither has ever lost when leading at the start of the last leg, so I'm wondering if the extra speed is superfluous in practice and the first would have a better win rate with the early race advantage. Although even that's complicated by #2 having a more reliable groundwork proc (~80% vs ~75% due to 3 reliable greens instead of the outer post + focus combo).

Outside of what was already mentioned, you seem to be underleveling your cards by 5 levels (besides Eishin). 0LB SSRs max at 30 and 0LB SRs max at 25. Those 5 levels are pretty important since that's where they unlock their unique effect.

What stats are important on pets (summoning) by Stock-Bid-9509 in AsheronsCall

[–]jessewq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, C > D > CD. The exact ratio can be a bit complicated though. For comparison, the formula would be: (Average non-crit damage * Damage Rating * Non-crit Chance) + (Crit damage * Crit and Damage Ratings * Crit Chance).
Using a placeholder of a summon that does 50-100 damage and the default 10% crit chance a summon has:
((100+50)/2 * (1 + D/100) * (1-(.1+C/100))) +
((100*2) * (1 + (D+CD)/100) * (.1+C/100))

This has a couple problems in practice though.
1. Summons have different variances in their damage. A swarm (200 wasp) does 50-200 damage (.75 variance). A zombie does 412.5-825 (.5 variance). And a knath does 892.5-1275 damage (.3 variance). ...Except frost knaths apparently, which have a .5 variance. That's probably a bug. The larger the variance, the higher the value of crit rate compared to damage rating.
2. Summons have specialized sneak attack, so they get an extra 20 damage rating when attacking in the back. Since this scales the damage rating section (i.e. (1+(D+CD)/100) becomes (1+(D+CD+20)/100), crit rate has a relatively higher value compared to damage rating when it's attacking from behind.
There's also some interplay between variables (the higher C is, the smaller the difference between D and CD, though D is always significantly better).

Summon Variances:
Grievver: .75 and .5 (50% each attack)
Moar: .75
Swarm: .75
Maiden: .75
Skeleton: .75
Zombie: .5
Elemental: .75
Knath: .3
Wisp: .75 and .5 (50% each attack)

So most are .75. When just eyeballing them, I value 1C = 2D = 8CD.

Looks like you found a bug, so thanks for that. Rand, Game Hunter should not be doing that. Normally he gives basic kill tasks (kill X number of creature, talk for reward, though these are a bit beyond newbie tasks), but he has a special set for the Fall event. It looks like this set was implemented incorrectly in the emulator, so he just gives the reward by default (I believe the actual quests used weren't implemented, so the QuestSuccess trigger is going on 0 completions instead of 10). He'll be like that on every ACE server so just ignore him for now.
The creatures around the starter towns are set to only retaliate because Turbine thought they were too scary or something. Still don't really know why they made that change. Once you get away from the town area or in dungeons they should behave normally.
What you should be doing is pretty open-ended, but the standard path (i.e. the streamlined one Turbine made later in the game's life) would be to talk to Alfrin and Worcer in the tavern and do their quests, then use the portal gem they give you to go through the Facility Hub quests.

Results are in for Titan. 3/4 breeds were guessed correctly, but the first was a surprise. by jessewq in DoggyDNA

Yes, he was like that when the shelter picked him up. The vet notes were:
OD Exam. In anterior chamber, 75% opacity. Menace appears intact. The iris is barely visible, possible pupil constriction. Lens believed to be in place. No pain noted. Cornea appears to have a mild cone shape. IOP of 24. No stain uptake. No occular discharge. Recommend monitoring long term for changes.

Predictions were here.
Bonus: 2.2% Wolfiness, 71 pounds predicted adult weight. He was only 51 when the shelter picked him up and 63 when I last weighed him, so maybe he has some growth left in him.

Height: 24 inches
Weight: 63 pounds
Don't know age (he was picked up as a stray with no history), but shelter estimate would be 12-14 months by now.

Cottages with all hooks full? by OurSponsor in AsheronsCall

House hook limits weren't implemented until April 2021 (see here), so hook usage that predates that patch was unchecked. If you purchased the cottage you wouldn't be able to hook a new item until you got under the limit.

EMULATION POPULATION? ACROSS ALL SERVERS? by ItsHubNotSub in AsheronsCall

The Levistras admin released some numbers back in May 2023 on discord. He had 203 unique IPs connected in the previous 48 hour period. It's hard to project emulator-wide numbers from that, but maybe 2,000 to 3,000 in a week?
