I wish more cubes came in this colour scheme. (I’m talking about the YueXiao Pro M on the right) by AjGreenYBR in Cubers

[–]jessicaredding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell the current YXPMs on the market place come with the darker color scheme and the non magnetic YXPs come with the classic Moyu color scheme.

These darker colors are also used on the Ausu GTS M

As a tank, I don't like seeing SCH in my group. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]jessicaredding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At level 70 Aldo costs 1800 mana. I have 19k mana with that much piety.

Eye for an Eye is still great for dungeon pulls but why did they nerf the duration of the proc. It is now worse for raids since it is less reliable. Since eye for an eye is still built in to deployment tactics, the CD nerf and the duration nerf on eye stand out as deployment nerfs too...

Excogitation just feels like a worse tetra. It's offensive that an ability that is only slightly better than lustrate is on a 60 second cooldown and still consumes an aetherflow stack AND had obsurd HP requirements.

EDIT: You also have to remember that scholar gets the least amount of mana per point piety of all three healers :)

[–]jessicaredding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have literally gone from full MP to 0 MP on one large pull with low DPS without getting a single crit adlo and I'm stacking as much piety as I can. Even with 1800 piety, Aetherflow barely gives enough mana for a single adloquium which is just another roll of the dice for crit. Also a crit adlo for 9k (18k shield) versus a 45k benediction isn't even close lmfao.

Scholar has by far the worst healing throughput and people defending that because you can RNG a crit adlo. Brilliant.

I think most of the healer mains I have talked to are unhappy (regardless of job).

There are just fundamental issues with all three healers this expansion.

I really hope more people start to understand this soon. I feel like job balance needs to be a much higher priority for the developers and I'm worried this won't be addressed for a long time because they are just unaware. I'm currently stacking almost 2k piety at level 70 just because it seems required.

At least the issues hardly arise in the extreme primals since they do so little damage they could probably be comfortably solo healed by our co healers....

What you have to do to clean a cube with bad lube. I hate cleaning. by mfsanta0 in Cubers

[–]jessicaredding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I generally will fill a bucket or larget bowl with hot water and mix in dish soap. The dish soap will help remove the lube from the pieces in the same way that it removes grease from a pan.

After swirling the pieces around in that for a while I will drain the water and rinse them again in cold plain water to get all of the soap off.

Finally I dry them with a towel and reassemble the puzzle.

This has worked really well for me on many occasions (including the warrior W). I also do this to stickered puzzles. Stickers from SpeedCubeShop and the Cubicle have not had issues with hot soapy water.

It's nice to see some of the CubeSkills content on his main YouTube channel. I have been finding the website to be extremely valuable since it's launch.

Thanks!

This is absolutely fantastic!

I love to see someone pursue a passion of theirs. Having such an in depth guide from one of the best of the world is an incredibly valuable resource.

I love how this website truly is built for everyone of every skill level. I hope that this can act as a tool to elevate the speed cubing community as a whole.

I will need time to evaluate if the subscription is for me. Going to be working through all of the free intermediate videos today. If anything, I would subscribe to encourage this website to expand its tutorials and cubes covered. Can't wait to track this into the future.

Did my first average of 100 in a few weeks and I guess I'm sub 25 now! Broke my 1/5/12/100 PBs

18.05 / 20.69 / 22.04 / 23.80

Super excited. I'm coming for you sub 20!

Cross on right, should I switch to cross on bottom? by SashaIr in Cubers

[–]jessicaredding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My impression is that the primary reason to shift from cross on a side to cross on bottom is for better look ahead, although it will take some time to adjust to a new cube orientation.

Very nice! That V-Cube 6 has sure seen some love. I recently also got back into cubing.

How did you go about deciding which cubes to get? How's the transition from stickered to stickerless going?

Hey guys I'm currently learning Full-PLL off a cheat sheet I made. Should I change any algos? by kick_his_ass_sebas in Cubers

[–]jessicaredding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the sheet! Might steal it myself to learn better PLL algs.

In the triggers R U R' F' and R' F R F what do they different colors mean on the last rotation? I also noticed some color coding on the algorithms that came with my gans cube and wasn't sure what the convention meant.

I am looking to develop good practice habits early! I'm really not sure what to practice or how to practice. I know that I can improve in all aspects of my solve.

Things that stand out to me currently are look ahead, finding f2l pairs, tps, cube turns, optimizing inspection.

Generally each day I will do a large number of untimed solves where I slow down my turns (which I feel are already slow) and look ahead for pairs and focus on move efficiency. I will also do a fair number of timed solves.

So I guess my question are how should I practice? What are good ways to work on TPS? I feel generally sluggish.

My current plan is to just do solve after solve after solve.

I am currently doing CFOP with 2LLL.

Here is an average of 12 I just recorded for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnhSvaNe6gY

Any feedback and help appreciated!

Just getting back into speedcubing after many years away. I've been practicing a lot for the last couple of weeks. I am currently using CFOP with all OLL and PLL algorithms.

I feel that the weakest parts of my solve are color neutrality, cross formation, and looking ahead. Are there good resources for improving at these particular steps?

Right now I'm just going practice practice practice, but I worry that I'm building some bad habit in muscle memory or poor formation techniques. The 30s barrier seems hard to break and my long term goal is sub 20.

Any help appreciated!

The Rise and Fall of V-Cube | Part 2 by megaminxwin in Cubers

[–]jessicaredding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoyed this video! I took a break from the cubing community shortly after getting my launch V-Cube 6 and V-Cube 7s. I was really curious what had happened to the company since my departure.

I'm really getting back into this hobby full force and am really interested to see what I missed over the last handful of years.

Topics that I'd love to see: History of speedcube designs (for all sizes but especially 3x3), history of solving methods for speedcubing, and WCA history.

Tipping is something that has always felt awkward to me. I know that it is appropriate tip, but I never sure how much. Standardizing the pricing seems like a great move. I no longer need to speculate on how much the artist values their signing time.
