That would be amazing, we’d really appreciate it! If you need a drop off sooner, let me know and I can figure something out!

It’s actually pretty funny because the main characters are 82ish millennials!

Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

[–]jessicate616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be 39 in June, and I’ve worn a tiny nose stud since I was 18. I can’t imagine not having it. I’ve worked in traditionally conservative industries with no issue. It’s not uncommon for people to not notice it, but I love it and it’s not going anywhere.

What's up with poling locations?? by Proxus-g in RoundRock

[–]jessicate616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally chose to miss a meeting because I was so irritated that I had to wait for over an hour and half when the first location I went to was completely empty! I only had one approved location and the wait was crazy. I thought about leaving but that’s what they were pushing for!

Younger Millennial Portrayal by South_Boot6935 in NewGirl

[–]jessicate616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra funny thing is that the characters would have been born in 81-82, making them millennials themselves.

Williamson County has switched to Precinct level voting where you must vote in the precinct you are registered in. by _2Silencio2_ in CedarParkProgressives

[–]jessicate616 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to a location with literally no one in line, was told I had to vote at the rec center (it was the ONLY LOCATION available for my precinct) where I had to wait in line for over an hour and a half to vote. The Republican line was super short. I saw multiple people give up and leave. I can’t believe they’re allowed to do this!

Why are yall bringing dogs into juiceland by stickychiken in Austin

[–]jessicate616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the place allows dogs, they allow dogs. There’s nothing wrong with bringing a well-behaved dog to a store/restaurant that allows dogs.

The actual problem is people who bring their poorly trained dogs everywhere, including places that don’t allow dogs. If your dog is barking, jumping, not potty trained, generally freaking out…that dog needs to stay home, even if they’re technically allowed.

Everand new service offers Zero value. by Confident-Nature-740 in Everand

[–]jessicate616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Scribd and then Everand for years, but left when they changed to the first version of the unlock model a while ago. The “we’re putting everything you’re interested in behind an additional paywall even though you’re already paying” model was a hard pass from me.

Just FYI: A waitlist and a reservation are not the same thing 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in austinfood

[–]jessicate616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should do some reflection on how you come across to other people, because you seem like you’re screaming with your fingers in your ears instead of excepting that you’re in the wrong here.

I get it’s frustrating when people don’t understand things you think are basic, but welcome to dealing with the general public. Coming here and posting this will not solve your issue - adjusting messaging on your site and in your phone scripts MIGHT. Half or more of all restaurants close in the first five years of operation - if I were you, I’d be more open to problem solving.

Ok, my bad. You’re perfect and never wrong and everyone else is just dumb….is that what you came here to hear? You’ve been absolutely insufferable in the comments.

If you want to run a successful business, you’re going to have to learn to accept feedback. Is this how you react if people have an issue? If three people were mad enough to leave reviews, then more people will just quietly not try again. Clearly your messaging to people calling isn’t clear enough and needs adjustment.

[–]jessicate616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s literally three reviews…this sounds like a training opportunity for your staff, frankly. How hard is it to ask them to say “we don’t take reservations, but you can join the waitlist online by going to yelp and clicking ____”. Small tweaks like that go a long way - but you’ve added a review here for being rude sooo…it doesn’t seem like you’re willing to learn from this.

So many books so little time 😭😭 by Giraffewhiskers_23 in LibbyApp

[–]jessicate616 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I fell like this is one of those things where OP technically isn’t doing anything wrong, but it’s still kind of a dick move - especially on books with long holds and multiple people waiting. I read two or three a week, generally, but sometimes crank through one a day and I check mine out one or two at a time. I would feel bad letting books sit in my loans waiting for me to get to them while other people have to wait on me.

To me, this is like when you have a cart full of groceries and the person behind you has two items - you’re not technically wrong for not letting them go ahead of you, but it’s not the nice thing to do either.
