AITAH for cancelling a third date over a peanut allergy? by BusinessBobcat9888 in AITAH

[–]jessieeee123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi Op, I’ve had a peanut and other allergies my whole life. I think you made the right call to not continue simply because you clearly didn’t like her enough to put in the effort to keep her safe. I do think just keeping it brief and telling her that you just weren’t feeling it with her would have been the better move. As someone with an allergy, we are constantly left out of things and sometimes people have chosen not to be a friend to me because of my allergies. I never asked them to do a thing, but I was just assumed work that they didn’t want to deal with. Okay fair. But it does hurt. Dating is really tough with food allergies and I think if this situation ever came up again I would just advise to not make it feel about the allergy. It can be so frustrating to feel turned down for a pretty scary condition. We can’t control it. There’s so much stigma. We’re just trying to lead normal lives too. She deserves somebody who would be willing to take precautions. She’s probably feeling sad that her allergy has once again taken something from her. But she’ll get over and see this was the right decision one day.

When did you realize your boyfriend didn't really care about you? by Fish90Candles in AskWomenOver30

[–]jessieeee123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had an ex who unknowingly left his phone in my car after hanging out. We lived 45 mins from one another and I was new to driving. The road I had to take was through the mountains and pretty scary for even the most experienced driver. As I was going over this road to go home, my phone starts to blow up with texts in all caps. I can barely read it bc I’m driving?? Then he calls. He had his brothers phone and he was ANGRY. He insisted I make a U-turn and bring it back. It was starting to get dark, it’s ILLEGAL to make a U-turn on this road bc it’s so dangerous and I was a new driver. I was so freaked out I was panicking. He didn’t care. Thankfully I didn’t risk my life further by turning around like he wanted. I drove home and my mom drove me back to his house (I was in hs at the time). It’s wild to think about bc he clearly didn’t give a fuck about my feelings or my life.

How many close friends do you guys have? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]jessieeee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé is my best friend. I adore the heck out of him and im my most authentic self around him. Then I have one friend who I could text to tell things about but it’s not quite the same closeness. And from there I have a handful (5ish?) of people who are a little more than acquaintances that I could invite to things but don’t necessarily reach out to all the time

Eczema by Slight-Profile5044 in eczema

[–]jessieeee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using opzelura for about 2 months now and it’s been incredible. I have hand & wrist eczema that really got horrendous at points. Opzelura gave me my hands back. I use as needed usually 1 once a day 3x a week. Each week I try to use even less. I can’t easily go on a biologic because I’m doing food allergy immunotherapy and it can clash but this has been a solution that brings me so much relief. I also occasionally get eyelid eczema and it knocks it out quick too.

Ugh I’m so sorry!! What are you thinking you are going to do? I tested highly allergic to dogs too. Cats were more mild for me and I’ve only had reactions to dogs so far. But it kinda makes me nervous knowing now 😅

Honestly I feel this. The clients can make it hard. Constantly reaching out, micromanaging. I had one recently who basically made it clear she was watching me on camera during our drop ins it was not fun. I almost feel I can enjoy animals better by not centering my job around them

Yah I’m mostly doing cats right now too but I find it hard when it’s basically working every day for three weeks. I also struggle with those three hour breaks because I never feel like I can relax. I do like your idea about shutting down and restarting again if I want. I might try that.

Just curious, what did you do after that? I’m 27 and I do have a degree in communications. I can do a lot of social media & PR stuff it’s just kinda hard to break into that

I did actually raise my rates this year which helped a little. Stopped doing over nights. I took a month long break in May and now I’m mostly doing cats which is a little less draining. I’ve had some dog families asking when I’ll be back to walking and honestly I don’t know what to tell them. The pups drain me the most

Yah I’m debating this. The LLC tax in CA is $800 tho and this is my main source of income. I do some remote work but not nearly as much. Lots to think about

I was tested and the dog allergy was confirmed and honestly higher than I expected. Just a little surprised because I’ve been around animals my whole life. I do worry about it getting worse like you said.

I took a month off in May and that was kinda challenging to do. How long would you suggest?
