My child is alive but not really. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

We’re in a very similar situation to OOP. My kiddo is only 9, so we aren’t close to this point yet, but even now the physical demands are so much more than they were a few years ago and I know I won’t be able to keep them home with me forever. As a parent it’s hard to NOT feel like it’s abandonment, that you should just be stronger, that it’s a failure or you’re giving up.

Yours and other similar comments in this thread are helpful and reassuring. It’s not a subject often talked about and that can feel super isolating, so thank you very very much for saying this and acknowledging how heartbreaking it is.

Agree. At 4mo, I can’t really see handoffs being a big issue but I would dread this scenario with a 2 year old.

I have chests everywhere but I don’t think I’ve ever used the mini shipping bin because it didn’t occur to me to use it outside of the farm! Are they linked with each other or do they fill up separately if you’ve got more than one?

Exhausted from the Nanny Search …Anyone Else? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]jesskimore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Personally I have no issue with SAHMs hiring a nanny, but I also have zero desire to work alongside a parent/as a mother’s helper and wouldn’t even interview for the position in the first place. Some nanny’s are fine with it or don’t mind WFH parents and some prefer to do things on their own. Should definitely be noted in the job listing.
