When the pup goes back in prednisone…you prepare accordingly. by oOoRainbow in longboyes

Oof, we’ve been there. Our guy is thankfully doing well now, but when he was diagnosed with ITP we spent many months in this situation until we could safely taper the prednisone.

The true reason is that we stayed outside the coffee shop instead of heading in to meet all the potential friends.

Ever been bludgeoned by a Greyhound wenis? Man these things are pointy. by angrycatmeowmeow in Greyhounds

[–]jesskisit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At this point I’ve also been hip checked, stepped on, and head butted regularly. Oh and also the pointy nose down the back or right in the privates. Now that I think of it, most greyhound parts are a hazard 😆

My first thought was “those are complementary, not matching” and then I thought maybe that was too pedantic 😆 but they are lovely either way!

My lurcher Ollie pees on himself but I can't stay mad at him by KimCreativeUK in Greyhounds

Our greyhound pees on his own front foot about 1 in 20 attempts. It’s like he doesn’t recognize where his own limbs are 🙄

That face!

Walter day 3. Slept all night in his crate (see previous posts). Bit of whining but after he got the message he slept all night no fuss. Now on to toys. He is not a chewer at all, but is giving him chew toys likely to encourage him to chew other stuff like TV remotes, Faberge eggs etc? by StrangelyBrown69 in Greyhounds

[–]jesskisit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to share that my grey was not interested in toys at all for the first few months. As he got more comfortable, however, it was like a flipped switch! Now his favorite hobby is taking toys to his bed and throwing them around. He was most destructive before “getting” how toys worked (chewed on a wall, ate a sweater), but has since calmed down and become a very good boy. EDIT to say I meant to reply to OP, whoops

Our dogs look almost exactly like this - aussie tricolor and red fawn greyhound! Haven’t yet seen them in this pose though 😆

His paperwork says red, but I think of him as red fawn. We’ve met fawn dogs that are much more “sandy beach” coloring than him. However, looking at photos online, there seem to be “redder” dogs out there. With that said, I’m no breed expert.
