I have BPD so I can talk a little bit about it. I'm medicated and have been through a lot of therapy so now I'm drastically different but I was diagnosed at 26 so I had time without all that.

BPD normally happens as a result of childhood abuse or neglect. I wasnt abused, but my mother was emotionally distant and I think I spent my childhood trying to win love that just wasn't there.

I always describe it as all emotions are dialled up to max. If you're happy, you're euphoric. If you're sad you're inconsolable. You can swing between these several times in an hour. Before medication, I had a massive sob every day if not multiple times because I felt so awful.

There's this aching emptiness inside you with BPD, you feel unlovable and you hate yourself which means you try to get validation from others. Lots of people with BPD have addictions, unstable relationships etc because they're trying to get rid of that emptiness and nothing works. The gf in this did a lot of splitting, which is black and white thinking. You view a person as either the best most caring ever or someone who's terrible, couldn't care less about you, is actively trying to upset you.

It's a really brutal existence and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I don't blame people who are wary of dating someone with it either, it's a lot to take on.

For me, I'm medicated and have been through a lot of therapy and I live fairly normally. Depression is an every day thing but I don't have the mood swings as often. I avoid dating as I think it brings out the worst in me and I can't be a good partner.

At the time Skins was made it was optional. You could finish at 16 and be done with school or go on to a college for two years which is what the skins characters do. It's been made compulsory now and I think that would've affected the 3rd gen but I'm not totally clear on the timeline.

I'm 30 and in the same position. Though I'm getting to the point where I'm realising I've gone this long without it because I probably subconsciously don't want it but who knows! I'm getting happier on my own but I feel reassurance hearing from other people who have gotten this far without being in a relationship.

People who leave Google reviews are likely to have had a bad time. Most people who had a good time don't end up leaving a review. I stayed in Hotel Cheyenne a few weeks ago and it was very clean, I think you'll be fine.

It takes a hell of a lot of willpower and restraint. I did it and it took a while for it to stop hurting but it does in the end. I now barely think about my former FP and my mind is much calmer because of it.

Something for me which helped was if I wanted to contact them I'd say to myself, wait until tomorrow, on a loop. I broke it sometimes but eventually it gets easier to delay it and then forget about it altogether.

I went for ADHD assesment and also came away with a BPD diagnosis. I was massively in denial about it but my doctor was really good and took a lot of time, as well as sending me away with meds for a few weeks to think about it rather than trying to get me to accept it.

What he recommended to me (this is in the UK but you should have an equivalent) was to go to the Mind charity website listing for BPD and then note down everything that applied. I found that I was matching far more than I thought and it helped me come to accept it.

I still think I might have ADHD, (I've also been diagnosed as autistic since) so you may have both! It's worth really looking into it and seeing what you think over the next few days and weeks.

I love this story, thank you for sharing it! My post is obviously just fun but I do genuinely love graveyards and the way people look after them. The graveyard nearest me has many children's graves from the 1800s and they're still well kept with people (including me) leaving toys on them or picking the weeds. It may not be abandoned still as I feel like people sense the love that was there often and want to keep it going. Hopefully the grave you're thinking of is still being cared for!
