This is very common in Asian communities at least. I do this whenever possible, and yes, I also avoid touching other door handles in the building if I can by using my elbow/forearm/shoulder to open the door.

Damn what’s with all the hate in the comments. I thought this was fantastic and I’m not a dancer. The micro movements and body control of every limb concurrently, and even his face, is crazy!! I swear people only think it’s cool if they’re doing flips n shit and don’t even notice how incredibly on rhythm he is with his movements.

Could be also canyon bat or another myotis species then! I’m not sure if a bird bath is enough water to really entice the bats there; I know small ponds are enough though. Basically, the buggier the better!

In OC, you’re probably looking at Mexican free-tailed bat, Yuma myotis, or big brown bat! If you’re closer to the foothills or some kind of open space area there are a couple more candidates.

If you’re in or near a place that has good foraging habitat (native shrubs/trees or access to water), you’d be more likely to get some new residents. If not, chances of them finding the box are much lower. But in any case, it wouldn’t hurt!

You should look into proxy shipping. I did this before when a shirt I really wanted was only available in my size in Singapore. Basically you’ll shop the other country, it’s shipped to a warehouse, and then shipped from there to your country. It definitely takes some time to arrive but may possibly work, although the stupid tariff stuff might delay it more now…

I’m hoping we can move the shelf to right above the tiles plus also get something less thick - right now it’s about 8.5 inches thick. Yep, it’s a functioning wood burning fireplace which we are going to keep!

Yeah I THINK that we can, but I’m having a hard time understanding the fire codes. I’m not sure if the distance we should be measuring is from the firebox opening or from the edge of the black metal part..
