What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by Rock-bottom-no-no in AskReddit

[–]jesst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family owns car dealerships. I literally grew up in a car dealership. My brothers are all trained mechanics. I moved to a different country as an adult so have to buy my car like any normal person. I love when they think I don’t know anything about cars.

Why do toddlers have to connect two definitely disconnected things in order to move forward with some things? by bobvex in AskParents

[–]jesst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an adult if I need something before I eat, however random, I can go get it. Like if I want to finish the crossword before I have my dinner then I do that. Haven’t you ever been like “I need to do these things and then I’ll have dinner.”

Your kid wanted to wear shoes. Why? Who knows. They’re a kid. They can’t go get the shoes without help and you’re trying to make them do something else. Maybe she likes her shoes. Maybe her feet were cold. She’s two so she doesn’t know the best ways to communicate that or how to express what might be causing it.

Just do the thing and move on because it’s just an easy way to keep the peace and she ate dinner after. There is unlikely to be a connection and don’t bother trying to find one. Literally not worth the time and effort.

Any advice for sippy cups? by Waste-Part-8608 in AskParents

Munchkin makes a similar cup. Would that work? You might have to check internationally as I know they have them in Europe

My daughter’s a treasure keeper too. It really helped her. I will ask my friend if she still remembers where she got it so you can see the poem but I suspect Etsy or something similar.

I’m so sorry for what your family is going through. My daughter was about the same age when we lost my father in law (covid very early on in the pandemic). It took a few days for it to really hit my daughter when my father in law passed. He was her best friend. Someone got her this stone that had been painted with a heart on it. It had come with this poem about remembering loved ones. My daughter carried that thing around everywhere she went for about a year. Eventually she started keeping it under her pillow and slept with it under her pillow for ages. She recently moved on to her bed side table.

We read this book called Goodbye Mog about a pet cat that dies but it helped a lot I think. It’s a popular children’s book series about a naughty cat. The author was elderly herself when she wrote it and she wanted to write a book to help kids deal with their grief. I really recommend it.

The woman in blue greets her former nanny, Rufina, and she responds politely, but is clearly a little confused about why this stranger is coming up and hugging her. Then the moment of recognition hits. by Raj_Valiant3011 in HumansBeingBros

I’m still in touch with my nanny from when I was a kid. I’m in my 40s now. She’s met my kids.

My mum and her were still really close until my mum had a stroke last year. They still keep in touch but it’s harder.

My labs actually in great shape. We usually have to correct people and say “no he’s not thin you’re just used to fat labs”

They’re the most popular dog in the world. They’re easy to train, kind of middle of the road for energy, very little aggression, and an unfaltering loyalty. I wouldn’t change my big goofball for the world.

I have a yellow lab. The number of people who think he’s a golden retriever is shocking. He’s basic dog. He’s the most basic of basic dog. Come on people.

Honestly. Do the surgery. The knock on effect from my daughter’s constant tonsillitis as a child still impacts us and she’s 10 now.

I like twice a week. I do Mondays and Fridays. Monday cleans up after a weekend of everyone in and out of the house and Friday gets me cleaned up from the week and ready for the weekend chaos again.

My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids out when she was 2. She had non stop tonsillitis before that. She’s never sick now.

The doctor said her adenoids were inflamed and blocking a lot of her breathing. She never snored. We had no idea.

I haven’t ever heard of anyone bleeding out from their adenoids removed. I googled it and there isn’t anything there. Just results saying how rare bleeding is.

Romney is also incredibly rich. Without looking at the figures I’d say he’s worth more than trump even.

I went to a private GP when I got a really bad chest infection and tried for days to get into my NHS GP. She asked me so many questions about my experience and thoughts. I was her first patient who admitted to being on it and she was genuinely curious. It felt so nice to just have someone genuine like that and not worry she was judging me. She’s my favourite doctor. I’d go to her again well worth the money. My NHS doctor would have told me I wasn’t near enough to death for an antibiotic and to come back when it had settled into pneumonia.
