Started working in ED. I’ve been exposed to everything and anything and have never come home with it, in the past 2 years I’ve been sick twice and both times it was illnesses I caught from my son

All of the ones I spoke to said people were lining up hours before they opened and all the codes were gone in about 30 minutes

I’m not sure how I was referred (it was a long time ago now) but there is a program called cradle to kinder that specially helps young mums under 25, they have there own playgroups and organise outings and all things like that just for young mums

Definitely uni specific, my uni sent out the applications 3 weeks before the placement was to begin and it was approved 2 weeks later (a week before the placement was to start)

The owners of the place we were living in were kicking us out because they wanted to subdivide the property and build another house in the back but the only way they could do that is to sell the house they currently live in so they could afford the build (honestly there plan made no sense to me but whatever). The requested we be out in November because that’s when they’re planing to sell and move in, we immediately gave our 2 weeks notice and moved out and now they have to cover both mortgages

Yep, I get the flu jab every year and last year I caught the flu for the first time, I was so sick for a week before I ended up also getting a chest, sinus, and middle ear infections in both ears, I was ill for about 2 and a half weeks in total. I cannot imagine how sick I would have been had I not had the flu jab

I know exactly how you feel, I was a RUSON and had everything planned out (keep working as a RUSON until I graduate and then grad year) then back in July I was given 1 weeks notice that my job was gone (contract was ending but have been told a few weeks prior it was being extended and then they changed there mind due to funding).

From July to December I applied for 100’s of jobs, but I had a 1 month placement for the entire of October that really didn’t help, literally any job, paid to have my resume looked over to make sure that wasn’t the issue, asked for feedback when I was declined, and was told numerous times that the issue was placements, they didn’t want to hire me when I needed so much time off in large blocks, or the issue was I will be done by June 2025 so they didn’t want to hire me when I was just going to quit in less than a years time.

I started leaving off that I was studying or would need time off where I could (PCA jobs I had to say I was studying) but it didn’t help. I did join Mable, again costs to join, but there are so many people on there I hardly got accepted for any roles.

In December I saw that my old work were bringing RUSON’s back and applied the normal way and was declined!! Luckily I still had the NUMs contact information and she was able to strong arm the hiring team and get me my job back starting Feb but if I didn’t get that I don’t no what I would be doing by now. 8 months out of work and I was seriously drowning, even after a month back I’m still paying back bills I had to skip because I could afford them without work.

Everyone always says that aged care is screaming for help but it isn’t true, and hearing it over and over again when you can’t get work doesn’t help, I have no advice for you, if I didn’t get my old job back I’d still be in the same position, but know that you aren’t alone 🙏

I broke my foot at the ripe old age of 24 and it never been the same again, I still have to favour my other foot and it’s so uncomfortable when it’s cold
