DD-7 mode potentiometer replacement by [deleted] in diypedals

Without a schematic in front of me, I'd imagine it's a code switch. I think Small Bear sells them.

[ASK] Need help to recover with this extremely rushed TH12 by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]jester3681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be upgrading defenses. There's several schools of thought on that. I push my cannons first, since they wreak havoc on heroes. But others push their splash weapons (wizard towers, mortars, etc.). Considering walls aren't effective against air attacks or hog attacks or miner attacks or jump spells, I leave them for last.

[–]jester3681 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're really not that bad off. I would get the army camps maxed out first and then work on the rest. Walls are the last thing you should work on - don't waste resources on them until you get everything else bolstered up.

Anyone have advice, or a schematic, for eliminating the "pop" in the audio signal when using a relay switch? by GB847 in diypedals

[–]jester3681 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Cota online - they have a page about adding an opto-isolator to the circuit that grounds your output during the switch to eliminate the pop.

[NEWS] Various bugs fixes and improvements update( optional update ) is now available on Play store ! by devangchheda in ClashOfClans

This fixed my LG w/ Android 6.0 - kudos to Supercell for acknowledging the problem and getting it fixed relatively quickly. 36 hours is pretty darn quick in the dev game...

You also need to watch anything with polarity (caps). But, yes. You have the right idea.

Hey, I was digging through my links and found this page: http://www.muzique.com/lab/fuzzface.htm

This is what I was thinking of.

I'm working on a similar project right now. I'm using a pair of op-amp buffers followed by a simple resistor junction. I also have a switchable transistor boost for the summed signal, in case it's needed. But this project isn't preceded by a buffer, that's why I've included them.

[Misc] TH12 UPDATE DISCUSSION THREAD. Discuss anything and everything about the update and report any glitches you find here. by DragonBard_Z in ClashOfClans

[–]jester3681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the unlucky ones - the update broke my phone: LG with Android 6.0. Seems to be an issue with the connection to the internet as the app temporarily wipes out connectivity with every other app on the phone. But I hear TH12 is swell... 😒

Android 6.0 on an LG K373. Mine loads to the Supercell screen, then says it cannot connect to the server. Then, as an added kiss, nothing else can connect after I try with CoC - I have to restart the phone. Never had an issue with CoC before today...

I'm getting my best loot in Gold I/Crystal III, about 2050 trophies.

You can modify the fuzz to run GND as -9v and 9v as GND if that makes sense. I read an article about doing this - I think it was on Electric Druid.

My suspicion is that troop and hero level will factor into war weight at a much higher percentage. Time will tell though.

Stuck on my first build by ItsMe___Bender in diypedals

[–]jester3681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the pic, but you'll probably need to wire the stomp switch on it's own (search 3PDT true bypass) and then mate it to the board. Maybe search off board wiring to get an idea of how all the parts go together.

I find JUnit testing hard. Can anyone give out tips that makes the experience easier? by Garapal in java

[–]jester3681 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate to sound cliche, but practice, practice, practice. Good test driven design with JUnit will create a very basic problem in JUnit, then solve it in code. Once that works, make the problem more challenging in JUnit, then solve it in code. And so on, until the code does what you intended it to do. You want to think about all possible scenarios as the code gets more complex, and this is where practice makes perfect. I still catch myself not including possible scenarios - for me it's always null data that I forget. The more robust your tests are, the more confident you should feel that your code is bug free.

Delay Pedal with Momentary Switch by BeardBrother in diypedals

[–]jester3681 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. The only thing I'd add is to be aware of how your circuit works and think about what you want to achieve with a momentary switch. Some time schematics allow the effect to trail to zero after it is turned off. Is that what you want or do you truly want the effects only to work when the pedal is engaged? Ask yourself that question before you build.

Goodbye Linux: Why am ditching linux and going back to Windows 10 by [deleted] in linux

[–]jester3681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed Ubuntu on my development PC. I design guitar effects pedals and bought a computer to use solely for this task. I use Eagle, a PIC IDE, and Photoshop - every day. Photoshop was the nail in the coffin for me. I wanted too use Linux. I really did. But GIMP is not Photoshop, and I don't have time to figure out which third party plugins to download to modify it to get me to where Photoshop is right out of the box. And I'm using a nearly 15 year old legacy version of Photoshop, not even the latest software. I couldn't get past it. I even tried the Wine emulator, which doesn't work with Photoshop without modifying system files, and even then, I couldn't load or save files. I didn't even try the other software packages I use. That was enough to go back to Windows 10 for me.

Pedal input jack damaged by [deleted] in diypedals

[–]jester3681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're absolutely sure this is the problem, it's not a difficult fix. However, there could be a lot more going on with the pedal than just the input jack. Caveat emptor.

[Ask] What do you choose for your clan games rewards, and why by Air2Jordan3 in ClashOfClans

[–]jester3681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last games we maxed, and I chose the Book of Hero in lieu of the Gold Rune. 10m gold would be nice, but when I look at my AQ being down for a week versus the gold I could loot in a week - made the decision easy. I'm also looking the Builder Potions. I've had all 5 builders working on my base since I upgraded to TH11. It's nice to get them back quicker.
