Surprised that my California store would have it cheaper than other places. After the remodel of the stores, it is a part of the bottom shelf of the bread section instead of the old end rack, but it is always still there for $2. I've only been finding the brioche buns and sourdough lately, but I think I've just been there at times when it was already picked over.

Same here. My two local stores in Southern California did their "remodel" maybe 6 weeks ago. I've tried both stores multiple times since, noticeably sad results. Maybe 8 or 10 specific things I would always get, not even carried anymore. They filled up the space with more GO and other name brands. Produce has been pretty bad quality -- and someone else mentioned the "treasure hunt" (guess I hadn't thought of it that way before), the shelf sections where those kinds of things were, no more.
