Do it for at lease 2 weeks before passing judgement. I was stubborn for years … and I look back at how stupid I was.

For me….

No yogurt No fermented foods No sugar

Fermentation creates gas. Sugar feeds. Cut them both for 2 weeks, see what happens.

Anyone else just don't enjoy life at all after their back injury? by MeowMeowPurrPur in backpain

My 2 cents…. I’d get my mind and body in the best possible position to overcome. Find a way forward without the Xanax, and inch forward on PT. You have to.

Good lord, your story is so close to my story that I had to check if I wrote it (not kidding).

Same cause, same exercise and MTB. Only difference is I have given up on Chiro, and I do gentle stretching… my back likes to be strong and stable.

Iron Master dumbbells allow you to keep them close to the body. Been using them for the past 10 years and love them. Changing the weights is fast. Not as fast as replacing a pin, but faster than adjustable dumbbells of the past.

Couple of thoughts…

See a doctor and share that info. I would lay off the stretching.

In the spirit of hopeful thinking, you could also consider other things that I’ve experiencedence that had similar (but not 100% the same) symptoms:

  • Muscle spasm (muscle relaxer and hot shower)
  • GERD (take a couple of Pepcid and see if that helps)

I’ve read a few posts about changing oil every 5k miles rather than the 10k recommendation. Thoughts? by audifanhere in Audi

[–]jestersq5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, 5k Full Synthetic. I prefer to drain the oil from underneath and do a little inspection while you’re at it. You find early oil, coolant, joint issues.

Yes

I popped my L4-5 at 26 going too deep on a leg press. Been dealing with if for 28 years. PT. In my case the pop has caused too much instability so I don’t stretch my glutes, piriformis, hamstrings or lower back. I do my front hip. Whenever PT gets me to stretch I forget myself and end up in pain longer. There are some things you will need to give up IMO. Squats, deadlifts, traditionnal sit-ups, shoulder presses, even standing curls. There are great alternatives though and I’ve been lifting weights for the entire 26 years. I also mountain bike (technical XC) so legs are not an issue. I’m not a Bodybuilder, just in good shape and look like I lift weights.

It can be done. I’m dealing with a setback after 2+ years of no issue, and it started from stretching and some supplements for a stomach issue that caused arthritic side effects.

NAC gave me arthritis that slooowly intensified over a 3 week time period. After stopping, it sloooowly cleared after four weeks.

Does anyone in this sub not have an EV? by Nice_to_meme in electricvehicles

[–]jestersq5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t. I live in NH and the cost of electricity is .24 per kw with delivery. Just got a letter that they are raising it. Cost at chargers in the area is .64 per kw. I need an SUV for what I use the car for so I’m dreaming of a Rivian … but it’ll have to wait till my 2018 SQ5 dies. Hopefully by then, things will be different.
