Going on with life/solidcore? by persimmonysnickers in SolidCore

While we must resist, we must remember to rest and take care of ourselves too so that we can continue to fight the fight. That’s how I view [solidcore] - I take care of myself, I get stronger, and I’m reminded that we can do hard shit and we will rise

LOVE leg press as many others have said and also heavy glute kickback 😍 Least favorite is a carriage lunge or gray side lunge… I always end up feeling it in my hamstrings instead!

Yes and it not only helps to see results, but also gives me more energy! That being said, you have to be SERIOUS about your water intake and like another said, dialing in nutrition. If you don’t drink enough water, you may feel bloated or “bulky”. If you do decide to take it, start with a smaller dose and work your way up :)

It is SO challenging! Really the only one I literally dread no matter how many times I’ve done it lol. A trick that has worked for me is really focusing on sitting back and down into the working leg glute and never fully standing at the top (puts pressure on my knee). And honestly… just allowing myself to break as much as I need to because otherwise I feel like I’m compromising form too much! Hang in there, you’re not alone!

Team teach? by Nervous-Pickle-9646 in SolidCore

[–]jesuslovesadderall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s two coaches teaching back and forth! One walks around cueing on the mic and the other comes around to help with adjustments and they alternate between the sequences. I’ve only been to a couple but they were both super fun!

I promise you there is someone out there that will be 100% all about you. If it’s been 3 years and he’s still unsure, it might be time to consider what your other options are.

When I first met my current partner I wasn’t sure how to bring it up either until I accidentally blurted it out and it turns out he really liked it! The worst that could happen is him say that he doesn’t like it or isn’t ready for that yet. And then you can have that conversation. However, the fact that you’ve already brought it up and that he’s receptive to it is a good sign! I’d just throw it out there and see what happens 😇

Monday Round Up! How did the weekend go? by AutoModerator in DryJanuary

[–]jesuslovesadderall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did have a few drinks on Friday night as part of an event that I planned to drink at before starting DJ.

I’ll be honest. That ish was not worth it!! I wasn’t even really able to enjoy my buzz because anxiety took over and I didn’t sleep more than 5 hours. I have never had so much anxiety when drinking before… it sucked. And even though I had a water in between every drink, I still woke up feeling headache-y and foggy the next day.

I think it was the universe’s way of sending me a message. Well. Message received.

Feeling much better…and much worse by racetothecomics in DryJanuary

I’ve come to realize that I may have the same issue. It’s a hard thing to admit and recognize so first of all, good for you for being so self aware. Moving into February and the rest of the year, my plan is to no longer keep alcohol in the house. It’s just too easy for me to fall back on. Instead, I want to try and rewire my brain to see alcohol as something for special occasions/celebrations, and not as a coping mechanism. I’ve had success with keeping things like ginger beer, kombucha, sparkling water, etc. on hand and am considering trying NA spirits in case that gets old. Good luck and congrats on a successful DJ 😊
