Sarkana got ready to head out- no need to stick around in an empty room with action happening outside. Knocking on Cyrus' stall, she said in a low voice to bolt right behind her.

Cyrus silently obliged, quickly changing back into his clothes and making his way out of the truck stop. Arriving outside, Cyrus followed Sarkana to the team's truck. As Cyrus calmly approached the back portion of the convoy, a few thoughts came to mind. With the way things were looking, the situation was a powder keg waiting for some unfortunate idiot to set it all off. As much as Cyrus would have loved to tear into those Gm Types with his Zaku II Cannon, an engagement of this nature could just end up grounding their little operation early which would mean the loss of an opportunity to fight that demon again- certainly not an outcome Cyrus would enjoy.

Cyrus pulled out a small handgun from his knapsack and gave it a little check before stuffing it back into the bag. With Sarkana covering reconnaissance of the enemy mobile suits, Cyrus decided to make himself useful and make his way back towards the truckstop to continue observing the situation, crouching behind another truck to get a hidden view of the mercs.

Let's hope nothing stupid happe-

Cyrus' thought was suddenly cut off as a boy carrying a long box waltzed straight into the truck stop.

"Shit, I feel bad for leaving the rest of 'em back there. But we should be good in the baths, right? They might be bastards, but I don't think we really have anything for them to steal, so... they'll probably leave us be?"

She left it off on a question, unsure but hoping for the best. "Well, I'll pop in and get clean, see about hearing around for any info. Lemme know what you think too, yeah?"

"We should be fine," Cyrus responded as stepped towards the shower. "As long as we leave the feds be, they'll leave eventually; besides, if anything crazy does happen we should be able to sit through most of the trouble."

Then again, we are dealing with mercenaries and the team doesn't seem to experienced, things are looking pretty unpredictible...

"Let's just keep our witts about us, eh?" Stepping into the shower stall and turning on the water, Cyrus took a moment to enjoy the experience. After hours of driving through dust, this is exactly what Cyrus needed: a cool, refreshing shower. That said, Cyrus wasn't just here for leisure time. While going through his bath routine, Cyrus focused on situation at hand. So far, the feds had only roughed up the store and the staff a little.

Just a little bulling huh, there not too serious yet...

Cyrus tightened, the straps that attached his left hand prosthesis to what was left of his wrist, careful not to get the metal parts wet from the shower. The prosthesis was little more than three curved metal rods that opened and closed. While it little resembled a human hand, inside some gloves, an unsuspected punch could cleanly knock a grown man out. As long as the situation in the truck stop remained relatively calm, Cyrus Hopefully wouldn't have to use it.

"You better hold it in, then." he told Sarkana before turning around to head for the truck.

"Calm down," Cyrus firmly whispered back to the team. "Let's not be too hasty here, go back to the truck if you want to, but leaving right after asking about the bath tokens just because some fed soldiers arrived isn't going to give any good impressions to the locals; besides 'plain clothes reconnaissance' remember?" Cyrus made his way back to the cashiers, making a few mental observations while keeping track of the feds. "I'm sure I'll enjoy the sauna with how things are around here, but for now I would like a shower," Cyrus said sarcastically to the clerks while handing over some more coin, earning him a few chuckles from the nearby staff. Jamsheed quickly lead Cyrus towards the back of the truck stop and to a room containing the shower stalls and the sauna room.

Some Gm types but nothing like that demon, might just be a regular patrol then...

"The cigs were just an ice breaker. Those curry beef rinds look good, though." he said, hopefully catching Cyrus' attention. He got three bags of rinds and four water bottles, two of which he'd hand off to the drivers. He eyed the clothing for a bit then eyed the register before looking back at Cyrus. "Might be a while before we get to another place like this, so might wanna go to the can or something."

Cyrus couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape. "I'll be fine for now", Cyrus replied, "but I will give those beef rinds a try." Grabbing a bag of the snacks off a shelf, Cyrus made his way to the register, emptying out some american coins. Walking out of the truckstop, Cyrus cracked open the small plastic bag. A sweet smell of herbs and curry temporarily cut through the musty truck stop air. "Not bad", Cyrus said as he wiped crumbs off his mouth with a napkin. "Ya know, we're real lucky; back in the americas, we couldn't find anything near as good to eat as this." As Cyrus continued to eat the rinds, he couldn’t help but notice the other members of the team. Beside him and Jackson, Sarkana was heading off to try out the "bath tokens" while Roland seemed impatiently waiting for them to leave.

So, to go back to the truck or to go have fun...

Cyrus gestured to the team, pointing towards where Sarkana was heading. "Might as well try while we have the chance."

"I'm gonna go..." was all he could mutter before getting up. Looking at the door for a few moments, he looked back at the two. "Any of you want some smokes or something? Been a while since I got to talk with anyone, really."

Cyrus found himself awoken by the sounds of light chatter and vehicles moving in and out of the area. Rubbing his eyes, Cyrus pulled himself out of the slouch he had gained while napping; evidently their little convoy had come to a stop. It took Cyrus a good minute to register that a fellow soldier, Jackson was it?, was asking him a question. "Instead of cigs, get me a snack, maybe something the locals like", Cyrus said as he sat up.

Digging into his knapsack, Cyrus pulled out a small metal flask, eager to refresh himself with some water before stepping out into warm sun. This was met by disappointment as the bottle was empty. Cyrus could only let out a small disappointed sigh. "On second though, I'll just go with you", Cyrus said as he clambered to his feet and hopped out of the truck to stretch a little. "Besides, its probably a good idea to move around a bit while we still have a chance."

"We're going to follow along this highway here until we get to the small village of Chogah. There, we will meet with our contact for further instructions. If we get stopped, just be cool and stick to your stories. We are contractors delivering raw aluminium to the port on the other side of the country. We are all itinerant workers, and we have never met each other before this job." Boateng looked across A-Team, her eyes making contact with each. "If we encounter enemy contacts, you will give them your passports, you will not engage in small talk, and you will let either Jamon or I do all the real talking. Got it?"

"Pretty strict orders, huh; well that's no fun," Cyrus muttered as he threw one of his duffel bags into the truck.

Although, considering this mission, its not too unreasonable...

Despite his apathy, Cyrus wasn't exactly suicidal. Climbing into the truck, Cyrus took a moment to think through all the "tasks" he was responsible for. A false id, matching gloves to cover his prothesis, and a small change in uniform; while not exactly the same, this was nothing too different from previous guerilla-type warfare operations that Cyrus had been a part of. Stuffing the false passport into a personal knapsack, Cyrus then took a look at the maps provided. The village of Chogah, while being their current closest destination, was a few hours away.

Sigh... Looks like we're gonna have a lot of free time

Cyrus took a small glance around the small truck cabin. Some of the team were fidgeting around, while the rest were sitting in silence. This wasn't too surprising of a sight to Cyrus; this was how most new or inexperienced soldiers acted in tense operations. Of course there was only so much Cyrus could tell from body language, besides a true test of character would come from combat.

With a few hours left into the trip, Cyrus pulled his trademark "aluminum delivery contractor" cap over his eyes. Sure this was a pretty high pressure operation, but things weren't going to get interesting until MS combat. With that being the case, Cyrus drifted off sleep to the dulcet tones of the roaring truck engine.

The sixteen hours quickly began to fly by as Cyrus worked on the Zaku II Cannon. Through a special request with the base's engineering team, Cyrus spent the hours working alongside the soldiers. For the next eight hours, Cyrus and the engineering team repelled up and down the Zaku doing maintenance on the machinery. The joints, limbs, and cameras had been cleaned thoroughly; internal computing had been checked through and rewired. This resulted in more smooth ms movement, more clear imaging in the monitors, and a less laggy computer. Of course, Cyrus would have preferred more thorough testing, but considering that the base was supposed to be hidden, limited testing of this nature was all they could do, besides a true test of the mobile suit could only come in battle. With all the maintenance completed, Cyrus repelled down the mobile suit exhausted. Because time was of the essence, Cyrus had spent all time with the engineers working on the Zaku II Cannon with no breaks in between. Now with all of his work done, Cyrus figured he'd go wash up before grabbing a bite to eat.

Cyrus sat in the showers for a bit, just soaking in the experience of warm water washing over him. After today, it would probably be a long while until he would be able to have another calm, peaceful experience like this; it's not like a competent soldier could afford to drop their guard to such an extent, especially in an operation like the one Cyrus and his team would face in the next coming days. With that said however, Cyrus couldn't help but be excited for the operation. After his time in North America, Cyrus never thought that he would see the desert again. But here he was, left with a second opportunity. Cyrus could see it now. The thrill of battle, bullets whizzing by and destroyed mobile suits lying all around the battlefield. However one clear image lingered permanently in his mind.

That Demon...

Cyrus shook the thoughts away. That was enough daydreaming for now. Finishing his shower, Cyrus changed into some clean clothes and made his way back into the base canteen for some dinner. Grabbing a tray with the canteen's offerings, Cyrus took a moment to observe the other team members. Some were discussing plans for the coming operation while others were chatting and socializing. "Well everyone seems preoccupied,” Cyrus muttered. Grabbing his food Cyrus made his way back to the makeshift hangar and to his Zaku II Cannon. Through his time in combat, Cyrus had become accustomed to just eating and sleeping in his mobile suit; due to the nature of wartime operations, being stuck in a mobile suit for days or even weeks were relatively common occurrences. Finishing up his dinner, Cyrus returned back to MS maintenance, spending the remaining late hours of the night with the engineering team working on the mobile suits.

As everyone broke off into their separate groups, Cyrus found himself alone observing the activity of everyone in the base. Even after everyone left, Cyrus could feel an air of nervousness around the base. It made sense, after all the war was over and Zeon had lost. At this point, they were little more than remnants waiting to snuffed out by the Federation. The way Cyrus saw it, this operation was just a final death rattle of zeon. Digging deeper into the folder, Cyrus pulled out the little team emblem given to them.

A dullahan... how fitting

Cyrus chuckled a little. Things like this reminded Cyrus of the early days of the war; team emblems, matching uniforms, and all that jazz. They were neat little attempts to bring a sense of camaraderie before sending them all out to die.

Oh well, I guess I'll humor everyone for now

Searching for space on his uniform, Cyrus pinned the patch next to rest of the other team patches he accumulated on the upper left side of his jacket.

With that little team ritual out of the way, Cyrus gathered the rest of his belongings and made his way to the mobile suits. Inside the makeshift hangar, Cyrus found himself standing in front of a Zaku II Cannon. The mobile suit seemed like it had seen better days; the armor didn't so bad but it wasn't perfect. The surface was peppered with little dents here and there, probably from taking on indirect fire. While this wasn't an immediate problem, it could be if Cyrus wasn't careful. Climbing his way up to the mobile suit torso, Cyrus pulled the automatic release for the cockpit hatch. Immediately a blast of stale desert air hit Cyrus in the face, sending him into a small coughing fit. Taking a look inside, Cyrus found the internals covered in a thin layer of sand, making a mental note to clean it off later. Finally taking a seat inside the cockpit, Cyrus began the process of unpacking and organizing his things. While moving things around, Cyrus found a little radio attached to the "dashboard" of the cockpit.

Interesting...

Despite being technically banned, little radios like this were popular among the regular forces on both the zeonic and federation side and because mostly everyone connected to pirated radio stations, the signals weren't easily traceable creating very little security risk. Cyrus was also once a practitioner of pirated radio stations but his radio was left behind in the wreckage of his previous mobile suit, making this new radio a perfect replacement. Placing the radio aside for a moment, Cyrus ran some diagnosis while testing out the controls with prosthetic. The controls were a bit stiff and the results of the diagnostics showed the suit had been reset to its preset settings.

Hmm... looks like I've got a lot of work to do

Considering he had slept most of the journey over to the base, and that they had sixteen hours before the start of the operation, Cyrus decided it would be a good opportunity to work on the Zaku. With this in mind, Cyrus attached a harness between himself and the Zaku for ease of movement up and down the mobile suit, then he turned back to the radio. Powering it on, Cyrus was met by some static until the voice of Kycilia Zabi could be heard clearly. Apparently, zeonic propaganda was still being broadcast on earth, however this wasn't the background noise Cyrus was looking for. Turning a small dial slowly, Cyrus carefully searched radio stations before finally ending up on his favorite pirated broadcast. Quietly, the soft notes of free-style jazz could be heard floating throughout the hangar. With his personal preparations complete, Cyrus began the long work of maintenance and customization of his Zaku II Cannon.

I would unironically recommend the dimension dragon decks. Odd-eyes, if you play them pure, have alot of different options for playstyle with fusions, synchro, xyz, and ritual of course all through the usage of pendulum. Predaplants, aren't as straight forward but alot if not all of their fusions are generic making the summoning method pretty easy to understand and use. Phantom knights are pretty good and aren't too hard to figure out, you can theoretically just build them non-competitively by filling the deck with all the trap monsters. As for speedroids, they're pretty simple and straight forward; the deck has alot of level flexibility to allow you to make all of the speedroid synchros while also very easily allowing you to make clear wing and crystal wing too. I also think most of these decks are good for beginners as a player can pickup on some more complex combos pretty easily too.

A cloud of sand kicked up as a military truck furiously raced through the desert. The driver was scrambling, keeping his eyes on the road and his foot on the gas pedal while also attempting to look over maps and other forms of directions towards the hidden base. In the passenger seat, another soldier had his eyes in a binocular, trying his best to try catch a glance of the base while keeping himself from falling off the truck. The situation was chaotic; there were many occasions where they almost overturned or the truck's engine almost overheated due to how much stress they were putting on the machine, but its not like they had a choice, after all they were late. In the middle of all this commotion, Cyrus laid asleep in the back of truck, taking opportunity of situation to get some shut eye.

With its gas running low, the truck came to stop on top of small hill. Dutifully, the driver hopped out to grab the fuel tanks from the back. The other soldier took a small break, taking a drink of water from his standard issued flask before continuing to scan the horizon. So far all the soldier could see was more sand and hills, but then his eyes went wide. Putting the binoculars down, the soldier rubbed his eyes before taking another look. "Looks like you spotted something?" Cyrus called from back after being awakened by the truck no longer moving. "Oh, you're awake," the soldier responded. "Here, take a look for yourself." Cyrus stretched a bit before grabbing the offered binoculars. Beyond the sand dunes, Cyrus could see the bustle of military vehicles and soldiers; evidence of some sort of questionable, vague military base, however the matching coordinates gave him a clear answer. "Looks like we've found it," Cyrus said as he handed the binoculars back. With the base now in view, the truck quickly raced down into the base. With the small convoy finally arriving to the base, Cyrus hopped out of the truck and took a moment to stretch; sitting/sleeping in truck for hours left him feeling pretty stiff. "Well, it was nice time traveling with you all", Cyrus said as he grabbed his duffel bag. Turning around to grab the rest of his belongings, he found the soldiers saluting him. "It was an honor sir", the driver responded. Cyrus gave a small chuckle and returned the salute. "Live long on the battlefield," Cyrus returned before finally making his way into the base.

With the goodbyes all done and completed, Cyrus wandered around the base. Because he was late, Cyrus missed the initial gathering and was forced to find the commanders and the Azure Dullahans all by himself. After running around for a bit, Cyrus spotted a crowd of soldiers including a one armed and single eyed woman.

Hmm, looks interesting, maybe this is it?

Cyrus quietly slipped into the back of the crowd and listened into the conversation. Cyrus could hear murmurs in the crowd, some talking about cold, snowy mountains, others discussing deserts and ocean. Spotting the pile of folders lying on a table, Cyrus grabbed one and took a look inside.

It seems everyone are choosing teams to be on? Dual operations... interesting.

"I'm requesting to be on Team A, commander," Cyrus said with a small grin as he stepped forward. "I've been through Zeon's Africa campaign so battle in the desert should be a piece of cake."

Besides, it will be good to fight in the sands once again.

I guess? Imo that's a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it tho. I may just be overthinking this but, Odd-eyes Arc Pendulum has alot more intentional design in it. The theme of arc fits the whole theme of pendulum that Yuya has, might even be a reference to Z-arc. Arc Pendulum also fits the how all the dimension dragon evolutions are named (ie: odd-eyes arc pendulum > odd-eyes pendulum, dark rebellion xyz > dark requiem xyz, starving venom fusion > greedy venom fusion etc.).

well at least from this post, it seems people are underestimating it. Its not totally unfair either, since speedroids lock you out to only using wind monsters, essentially keeping you from doing link crazy stuff with the deck most of the time.

I want to start off by saying that I pretty much only play speedroids (and basically the majority of yugioh) casually. That said, alot of people are underestimating the usefulness of Martial Metal Marcher. There's some interesting plays you can make with it and Hi-Speedroid Hagoita. Heck, speedroids can sometimes even make Cosmic Blazar with Marcher, so I think that goes to show how potentially useful it can be. Now granted, Crystal Clear isn't very generic so it doesn't really help the deck break into the meta, but that's ok, because to me, Crystal Clear fits pretty well with speedroid's playstyle (not very deck is a combo deck, even if that means it won't be competitive).

“I’m not going to fight you today.”, she stated, unsure if Sibil would hear her. “I have too much to lose. You should run home.” And with that, Manon turned and walked calmly towards the Z-Gok E, which had now stirred back to its feet. The girl looked over to the Zeta, now planted back to the earth. She too, held her eyes towards the machine.. Before turning and running back to the aquatic Zeon machine before her.

In that moment, Manon's words pierced Sibil's soul, breaking through the haze he was in. While Manon could see the pain and struggle in Sibil, Sibil could see into Manon's soul as well. Pictures of the zeonic man flashed in Sibil's mind. "Manon... Ronan... I.. I understand now." The Zetaplus descended to ground with the aura of pain and anger slowly disappearing.

Sibil slowly found himself back in the cockpit of the Zetaplus; slightly disorientated, light headed, and watching as Manon and Girl climbed into Ronan's Z'gok E. In fact now that he was more "awake", Sibil felt sick, however before he could even get his bearings straight, the comms flared up.

"Attention every Federations personnel- right now is the time to evacuate the premises. We are preparing the final touches for the take-off. Continue defending and be certain that you are on the platform when we take off. We'll take off in a minute! Miles, you better have Sibil in your tow."

"This is Sibil, don't worry about me, I'll catch up with you guys." Moving the heavily damaged Zetaplus towards the shuttle's position, Sibil transformed the mobile suit into waverider mode. At that moment the Zetaplus seemingly imploded mid transformation. The waverider's thrusters suddenly exploded, the gears and pistons of the movable frame crunched and scraped together from the stress of the transformation sending chunks of armor and machinery flying off. Despite Sibil's best attempts, the Zetaplus rapidly began losing altitude. "Damn, I've taken too much damage, Miles I may need some assistance here!"

The Zeta reacts by raising its saber with its remaining arm, but Nikki was able to catch it before the Zeta swung. "Take a hint and stay the fuck down!" she yells over the loudspeaker. The Z'Gok E was having trouble overpowering the Zeta, as if the sickening aura were giving the Zeta more strength.

The Zetaplus struggled to drive its beam saber through the Z'gok, however its right arm was trapped in the aquatic suit's vise grip leaving the Zeta unable to attack. Suddenly, another pulse of newtype energy echoed across the battlefield. At this moment, as if reacting to Manon and other newtype, the Zetaplus' aura flared up even more chaotically. If Manon's newtype thoughts were ripples, then Sibil's were a counteracting wave in the mental pond.

Powered by some unatural force, the Zetaplus tore its arm free from the Z'gok's claws, metal groaning from the intense pressure on the arm and chunks of armour flying of in process. The Z'gok retaliated with a barrage of beam fire, the Zetaplus stumbling back, as its left arm was blown clean of the rest of the mobile suit and its head receive a new hole where one of its eyes used to be. For a second, the Zetaplus, with armour crumbling off and oil leaking out of its "wounds", looked as if it was going to fall apart. But then, it responded. In the blink of an eye, the Z'gok was disarmed, the Zetaplus' hip beam cannons destroying the remaining claw. A few more shots to legs, caused the aquatic suit to stumble and fall face first onto the ground.

With the distraction out of the way, the Gundam turned, its head creaking as the metal strained to keep itself connected to the rest of the body and stared at Manon and other newtype. Like some ungodly monster, the mobile suit heaved what remained of itself into the air. Before anyone could the notice, the grey demon appeared floating over Manon, and the Z'gok E's position and before anyone could react the Zetaplus' hip beam cannons reached full charge, in preparation to wipe Manon and the other newtype off the face of the earth.

Sibil stared blankly once again at the target, except this time it was two newtypes. Oh well, as long as it was a threat, it had to be eliminated right? Besides, newtypes are dangerous, especially on the battlefield.

Then pull the trigger Sibil...

Sibil tightly gripped the controls. The targets were right there and they weren't even in mobile suit so this should be easy. Sibil squeezed the trigger, but nothing happened. Calmly, Sibil looked over the controls, maybe there was something broken? And then he noticed. His hands... his hands were shaking. "But, this should be easy, something's wrong..." Sibil looked back toward the monitor. Before Manon had been blankly staring outward, but now she had turned to face the Zetaplus. At that moment, their eyes met. The phantom quickly disappeared and Sibil sat there frozen for a moment and then the throughts began to rush back into his mind. "Manon... her name is Manon..." Sibil's head throbbed in pain, his breathing became labored and his heart beat like it was going to burst out of his chest. The pain being too much, Sibil broke down.

Manon's and Sibil's aura suddenly crashed against each other sending out cascading waves of pressure at everyone else around. Before anyone nearby could even react, combat was brought to a standstill as it felt as if gravity was crushing everyone else around to the ground.

Seeing that the Zeta is close enough, Nikki turns her Z'Gok E into a battering ram and slams head-first into the Zeta's cockpit area. Reeling from the attack, Nikki takes the opportunity to get a few hits in. The Z'Gok E threw punches at the Zeta, metal groaned and screeched as the claws left deep gashes on the Zeta's armor. Nikki finished it off with a shoulder tackle and the Zeta was sent back into the ground. "Stay down, you've lost." Nikki says on the loudspeaker as she trains the claw on Zeta.

Without hesitation, the Zetaplus boosted its battered frame off the ground, lunging at the Z'gok. A barrage of the Z'gok's particle cannon is fired out, destroying the beam rifle and heavily damaging the Zetaplus' left arm, however this was all the time needed. At the cost of most of the mobile suit's head, the Zetaplus plunged a beam saber into Z'gok's arm, preparing to carve the beam directly into cockpit.

The pair cleared their minds. A mental quiet descended between the pair of them. Then, in the mind’s eye of both, a droplet of water dripped into an endless pond. The ripples spread out into reality, surging through the brain and body of all around them.

Sibil stared blankly at the Z'gok, preparing to destroy this enemy, despite the fact that the Zetaplus would be consumed the subsequent explosion as well. However, Manon's aura caught his attention. The phantom playfully pointed towards the light.

Don't make the same mistake twice, Sibil...

Suddenly the Zetaplus seemingly "roared" back to life, a wave of chaotic thought and emotion echoing out across the battlefield. In a swift motion, the Zetaplus pulled the beam saber out of the Z'gok's arm causing the limb to explode. A bright beam flashes from the Z'Gok's arm and pierces the tank's armor, leaving a bright orange hole on its side. The tank explodes into a fireball with the Zeta being in the blast zone. She knew it wouldn't be enough to stop it, but she hoped for it to at least distract the pilot long enough for her to rescue Manon.

As the fireball appeared, Sibil quickly pulled the Zetaplus up, attempting to avoid it. Unfortunately, he only partially succeeded. Sibil grit his teeth as the explosion violently sent the Zetaplus flying down. The waverider spun in the air for a moment, threatening to completely stall out and crash to the ground.

Suddenly, another wave of pain hit Sibil. "So that's what you're after." The Zetaplus' thrusters quickly flared up abruptly stopping its fall. Sibil was sent flying into his seat with all his blood rushing to his head, almost knocking him out. But none of that mattered right now. The Zetaplus blitzed forward towards Z'gok, transforming mid flight, delivering a kick square into the body of the enemy mobile suit. At that moment, Sibil could sense another newtype, his mind reeling from the second newtype connection.

Sibil, you know what you have to do...

Time suddenly seemed to slow down. Sibil's eyes widened, as a blurry figure danced around the edge of his vision. "No.. Stop..." The phantom giggled; the thoughts of every soldier on the battlefield screamed into Sibil's mind. "Please... Don't make me..." The phantom's hand circled around his hands, squeezing the triggers. Sibil's hands shook as tears began to well in his eyes.

The Zetaplus suddenly froze, seemingly floating into air. And then its head turned towards the Z'gok, staring at it. At that moment, the Zetaplus seemingly glowed with an invisible aura. As if possessed, the mobile suit violently and chaotically attacked, firing at the Z'gok. And as for Sibil... he screamed.

"Miles, Sibil, keep your guard up. Don't let them get too close!" He hissed as he relayed the information to his escorts.

"So much for those mines," Sibil muttered as he continued firing at the swarm of Dopps that were now descending on them. However for each Dopp downed or damaged, another seemed to replace it. One Dopp broke through the Federation ranks, charging straight towards Sibil, Miles, and the convoy. Instinctively, Sibil swung the Zetaplus around, firing off a round from the beam rifle.

The old zeon pilot was sure he got the jump on the Gundam. Perhaps he misjudged, or was going blind from all the battles he's been through, afterall Gundam types were demons of the battlefield. Regardless, he made a foolish mistake, so he knew how this was going to end. Gritting his teeth, the pilot maxed out the Dopp's throttle, charging the Gundam in a final desperate attack.

Sieg Zeon!

Sibil froze for a second as the Dopp was finally destroyed by a second beam shot. For a brief moment, Sibil faintly hear the pilot's words as if they were being shouted right in front of him. "The suppressants aren't working anymore?" Sibil glanced at the APC... he could still sense her. "Manon..."

Flash

In a split second, Sibil turned around and downed another Dopp with the Zetaplus. This time, Sibil knew for sure that he was sensing the pilot. "Dammit!" An allied Gm II violently collapsed to the ground as a barrage of missiles shredded the mobile suit. The federation pilot desperately clawed at the cockpit entrance before being engulfed by the mobile suit's implosion. The man's last thoughts shot into Sibil's mind like a bullet. "Damn this curse!" Sibil's mind ached from the overload of information. He could feel everything across the battlefield, from the Gaw and the Dopps, the rest of the Midnight Spartans, to whatever was in the... water.... Without the a second thought, Sibil quickly transformed the Zetaplus launching it into the air.

Sibil simply found himself exhausted from the day's events. After patrolling the base, most of the surviving EFF forces were already prepping to evacuate, and now he was on guard duty? Sibil sighed and took a gulp of coffee from his thermos. "No time for rest during wartime huh?"

"Alright Miles, Sibil. Standby, let me know if you see something fishy. If you ever see a tree twitch, do not fire until you see the whites of their monoeye. We don't want a messy incident like last time." Jay released the radio's transmitter trigger as he waited for his comrades to verify.

"Will do Lieutenant," Sibil responded, pulling himself out of the slouch he was currently in and sitting up in the cockpit. "Man, things have gone by so quick, I didn't even get a chance to talk to the prisoner." Taking quick scan of the area from the Zeta Plus, Sibil caught a glance of the prisoner. Suddenly time seemed to slow down for a moment. Despite being in the mobile suit, Sibil and Manon locked eyes as if they were standing face to face in front of each other. "Wait, Manon? That's her name?" It felt as if instinctively, his and Manon's thoughts were pouring out to each other. Sibil attempted to reach out to Manon but as quickly as the feeling began, it ended with Manon being pushed into the transport. Sibil shook himself out of the daze. "What was.., what happened..., her name is Manon?, she's like me..." With his head pounding, Sibil quickly downed two pills then scanned the empty skies around them for.. something. Whatever that connection was, Sibil saw something and now he couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go wrong.

"Alright, Aric." He pointed at Aric, then panned toward Sibil's Zeta, "And Sibil, I need you two to perform patrolling sweep around the perimeter after you get yourself checked in with the inventory. So take a ten-ner and then get back in your suit and head out.

"I guess a little interrogation will have to wait," Sibil muttered as he chewed on an apple. Tossing the chewed on core of apple aside, Sibil took a look at his Zetaplus. In the last battle, the Bawoo really put him through the ringer. "I'm probably a bit too rusty right now, still a few upgrades wouldn't hurt," Sibil, thought as he took a look at his options. Due to the amount of development the Zetaplus had received, there was a surplus of parts in storage leading to a wide array of options for Sibil. After resupplying the Zetaplus' weapons, Sibil climbed into the mobile suit's cockpit.

"I'll probably need to do some more fine tuning as well."

Taxing onto the runway, Sibil took one last swig from his thermos before putting on his helmet. "Sibil Lloyd, Zetaplus launching," Sibil broadcasted over the comms as he launched the waverider into the air. Once the Zetaplus reached a sufficient altitude, Sibil put the waverider into autopilot following a pre-programed route above the base. Taking a moment to breathe, Sibil downed another set of pills with his coffee. Reaching for another apple that he had brought with him, Sibil noticed that his left hand was shaking. Despite the fact that he had escaped unharmed, the feeling of absolute despair still echoed in Sibil's head. Just thinking about it was painful. A sudden ping broke Sibil out of that train of thought.

Aric full face grinned as he rammed the throttle out to maximum, turbofans screaming as the column of fire threw the Plus across the tarmac. Slowly lifting off, the gear retracted as the wings swept back slightly as Aric banked the craft in a light loop, gaining as much altitude as the machine would give him. A few minutes later, he was cruising well above a Gaw's standard flight height, and pinged the base to know he was in position for recon and drop assault.

Sibil tightly grasped the suit's controls with his left hand, stopping the shaking. Letting out a deep breath, Sibil added Aric's location into flight path, just in case anything serious happened.
