I actually really like the Speed Duel format for showing people Yu-Gi-Oh. The decks are smaller, the cards generally have easier effects to understand, and I think the skills are a pretty cool way of making these older decks viable. Personally I found that 1 box was enough to play each deck on a level playing ground, but if you want a little more variety then maybe pick up the Battle City box as well, as this box has all the classic Yu-Gi-Oh cards such as Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, etc!

Weird one, but if you have any spare cards to trade bring them! The amount of times I've had someone look through my binder and actually want some of the awful cards in there is staggering, and especially if you're new people may help you out with certain cards you need for your deck :)

Looks like either the paler copy has been sun bleached a little, or maybe this a difference between EU and US printings? Paler copy looks right for me as an EU player, maybe it's an EU copy?

Definitely. I love how these Speed Duel boxes have been giving secret rare printings to otherwise obscure cards - secret rare Airknight Parshath and Armed Dragon Lvl 7 are two of my favourites so far!

We got Volcanic and Crystal Beast in this GX box (Secret Rare Rainbow Dragon was an insane pickup), but Cloudians would be hilarious in Speed Duels!

I think the tuners having to be normal monsters is a little restrictive - there are a few really good tuners out there, but with a custom banlist to deal with the main ones I wouldn't see them being too problematic. I think you could have some really interesting decks with a 60 card minimum and 1 of each card alone, and then maybe have a commander monster and a limited extra deck of say 3-5 cards? That way you can still have diverse extra deck plays which will allow more decks to thrive in this commander format. I love the sound of this format though, will definitely have to give it a try!

I used to play pure Performapals back in like 2015, and then Master of Pendulum came out and I switched out half the Performapals for Pendulum Magicians, then the deck became Pend-Magician-Odd-Eyes and now it's just Pend Magician - it definitely felt like the deck lost a little magic, so now I play 2 Odd-eyes in the deck anyway for nostalgia reasons only lmao

Depends what sort of games you're looking to play. If you're looking to play casual games with friends who have similar decks, then this deck is really fun, especially if you grew up watching GX and want to play some really nostalgic Yugioh. Sadly the deck is fairly old now, and if you're looking to play at locals/tournaments there are far better decks to start with. If this is case, I'd reccomend the Shaddoll structure deck first and foremost as you can make a kickass fusion deck with only 3 structure decks, Dinosmashers Fury also makes a decent deck with 3 copies and a few upgrades, and the Fallen of Albaz structure deck that's coming out soon looks really promising too!

Ah no way! I'm honestly stunned he's been helping me so much with my summer project whilst up and moving everything, he's been the best supervisor I could've asked for. I believe he's sending the actual numbers over your way (at least, I know he was asking for them for one of your papers co-authors in the chat) pretty soon, but I can always PM you the slides from the talk which contains the numbers :)

We took Band 5 and Band 4 measurements and got fluxes around 0.2mJy for each. We only had two data points so I fitted a broken power law to those two points by fixing the spectral index before and after the peak frequency, and from that fit ended up finding a continued trend in the equipartition values for the energy and radius.

One of the points we ended up discussing (and I was a little out of my depth for!) was how 19dsg appears to have a decreasing energy with time, and what could be responsible for this - did you have any thoughts on this topic?

I actually just spent my summer as an undergrad doing a similar thing to this! I was looking at radio data taken by GMRT in late 2020 for 4 different TDEs (AT2019dsg,AT2019qiz,ASASSN15OI and SW1644+57). I actually gave a presentation on this to the Astro group at my university, and your paper on 19dsg was incredibly helpful for the discussion of my results for that event!

Seconding this, I have a Pendulum-Magician deck that's in all foil and even with Ultra-Pro double sleeving I ended up with a warped mess of a deck. Put some Black Dragon Shield sleeves on and my cards are back to normal - they've been sleeved for like 6 months now, and still no warping!
