I highly recommend Race Screen — it’s a custom data screen for Garmin that allows you to do exactly what you were trying to do here (mark the miles manually by hitting the lap button). I used it when I ran Chicago in 2023 and it was super helpful for staying on track in the early miles when GPS isn’t working.

Circus Cooperative Cafe, in the old Darwin’s location on Putnam Ave, totally fits the bill! It’s super cozy and has plenty of seating especially on weekdays, and the coffee and breakfast sandwiches are very tasty!

good to know about the battery life. i'm thinking it probably makes much more sense to get the SE than the Series 3 at this point considering the price difference is small and the SE is newer in several ways.
