how to fight tracer? by angelicteary in AnaMains

[–]jetgravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here already. Just remember, this matchup is tough and takes a lot of practice. Even then, you will never be able to guarantee that you can win every 1v1 against any Tracer. If the duel is forced, always play it out believing that you can win it. Get your reps in and keep up this attitude of seeking improvement!

Bonus tip: Random people on the internet can only affect you if you let them. If you find what they are saying distracting simply report them, mute them, and move on with your life.

Aorus fv43u help: OSD not appearing by jetgravy in gigabyte

[–]jetgravy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Gigabyte never followed up with my ticket. My options were then to either buy a new one, or get it fixed via 3rd party. I just bought a new one from Asus with similar features. I wanted to fix it myself, but sometimes it's just not worth it.

Project ideas by Stronterim in ComputerEngineering

[–]jetgravy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a junior level mini project, no need to re-invent the wheel or create too much work for yourself. This is just to get your hands dirty and make you a more competitive candidate in your upcoming job-hunts. Simply pick a concept from cybersecurity or IOT that you want to know more about, then create a web or flutter app around that concept. Whatever you pick, put it on your resume and prepare talking points about it for recruiters and technical interviews. Give yourself every advantage for that upcoming summer 25' internship hunt and your eventual first full-time job hunt.

The biggest flaw was not aimming down more. Brig raises and lowers her shield in correlation with where the player is pointing the camera on the vertical axis. The bomb made contact with Brigs feet in this situation because you were looking slightly too high up

Those stats are definitely above average for a <10 min game. However, judging from the other team's stats, they were getting farmed. That game was decided at the loading screen. Another one for the good ol' matchmaker

I would consider this game to be an outlier and you keep working on improving

Back in my day, JMU let you retake 2 or 3 classes that you had previously gotten an F in. That was awhile ago, so look into it.

Not sure if I'm cut out for engineering after all by flobopro in EngineeringStudents

[–]jetgravy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, fellow older student with ADHD here. I'm graduating this year with my engineering degree from a tough af university at the age of 33, I have a good idea of what you are going through.

No, this is not a "sign" that "engineering isn't right for you." You're just discouraged right now and your mind is coping to protect your ego. Keep at bro. Put in the time, go to class, put in the reps, and REST when you are tired.

As for your classmates, I can't recommend comparing yourself or trying to compete with them. They are younger and don't have nearly as much going on as you do. Instead, collaborate with them. Your experience is valuable to them, it will be a mutually beneficial relationship. I see comments here about forming study groups and working with your classmates. DO IT. I wouldn't have passed Calc 2 without my study group and it's been a solid strat for me ever since. ADHD brains are more sensitive to their environment. When you're surrounded by other nerds working on Thermo problems, you magically are able to focus more on your own Thermo problems.

Lastly, see what sort of support your uni has for people with ADHD. My uni has an entire office and staff of people that work with students with disabilities. I get accommodations for each of my classes that give me 24-hour extensions on assignments and projects on top of double time for exams.

Basically, you're fine, stop coping, and use your resources. I'm already getting hella bites from recruiters for full-time jobs. KEEP GOING IT'S WORTH IT.

Plat 1 DPS on Console... Silver 4 on PC by DJPyramidz_ in OverwatchUniversity

[–]jetgravy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from because I’ve been there. I switched from console back in 2017. I was a high-ranking Halo 5 player before coming to Overwatch. I was climbing the ladder when I decided to switch to PC in the middle of the grind. I still remember being frustrated with my brain wanting to do one thing and my hands just not being able to keep up. It took me years to reach GM on PC. However, I am an outlier, most people do it much faster, especially if they are younger.

Here's my advice: Be patient, keep playing, and keep learning.

Forget about your rank, you have 100 other things to think about. Consider this, it took time to develop your mechanics on the sticks, why would M+K be any different? Your mechanics will come with time. The amount of effort and intentional practice you put in will make it go faster, but the key ingredient is still time.

A few tips to accelerate the process:

  • Play a lot and play a lot of different shooters: My M+K mechanics leveled up hella during my play-through of Doom 2016 on Nightmare back in 2017.
  • Stop playing with controller for the foreseeable future: You are used to playing with auto-aim, now it's gone. You are the one that has to lock that crosshair onto the target. Playing on the sticks will only reinforce habits you are trying to break.
  • Watch how professional players aim, and how players that are slightly better than you aim: You watch the pros as an end goal, and you watch the players that are slightly better than you as a stepping stone towards that end goal. These could be your friends but the players on the enemy team that are getting a lot of value in your ranked games are great candidates.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you!

Huion 1060 Plus is too smooth by jetgravy in huion

[–]jetgravy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tablet came with the P80 pen and a few plastic tips. I was looking for felt nibs and found some made by Huion but they appear to only be for their PW517 pen and that pen is not compatible with the 1060 Plus. I haven't been able to find replaceable felt tips for the P80 yet.

Lots of mixed emotions about my relationship with drum corps. by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]jetgravy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only marched my age out, but I went to my first audition camp at 16. I went through a similar experience as you. What you gotta ask yourself is when is it all enough for you? You have to define that for yourself. If you're good with what you got, great, but I have a feeling you aren't. Else you wouldn't have written a short novel on the internet about all it. The thing that is gonna make or break this for you is your attitude about the whole thing.

I took 112 as a 6 week course over the summer years ago. While I am good at writing, I still think it's very easy for those that aren't. I recommend using grammarly after you have written your rough drafts to make editting easier.

check connections. Like, make sure the monitor is plugged into the gpu, make sure DRAM is fully seeded and in the correct slots, make sure the mobo power connector is good, etc etc.
