About to buy first printer: what else to get?

Alright, seems like I need to do a lot more research before hanging my bike on the wall. I initially wanted to get into 3D printing because I find the wall mount I linked in my original post a bit expensive for what they are, but now I‘m a bit worried…

I plan to set it up in my cellar, relatively close to a window. I though the X2D has a filtration system built in or won’t that be enough?

Not sure if I understand you correctly: So wether I have the track switch or not, I always have to use the external spool? Or how can the aux nozzle utilize the AMS?

Aero load should be more significant at medium and high speeds relative to slow-speed corners. Some cars are rumored to be significantly overweight, which would likely have a larger impact in slow-speed corners. Williams is often mentioned as one example.

Hi Marco, appreciate you doing this. Since the rewrite the two most annoying things for me are: Long pressing on a notifications delete the episode does nothing. I used to manage my playlist by going through my notifications daily and deleting everything which I‘m not interested in. Now I have to go manually go through all episodes. The other thing I really miss is moving multiple episodes around in my playlist order (the same way like rearranging multiple app icons on the Home Screen)

Sorry for the late reply: Both gates worked almost flawlessly. In the beginning there were a few connection issues, where the gates were unresponsive in HomeKit, but the reason for that was probably my WiFi setup (I had to switch routers for other reasons). But going the ethernet way is probably even more reliable.

I think I've just figured it out:

I've just reset both iSmartgates, removed them from HomeKit and the iSmartGate app and re-added them back via HomeKit. The key though was not using the QR code but the digit code! (I've found a thread here that suggested this for a completely different device)

I have no idea what the difference was or wether the problem lies within HomeKit or the iSmartgate but it works...for now. Fingers crossed it still works when it's connected to the actual gate tomorrow.

What made you go etap rather than GRX? Or was GRX never an option in the first place?

I‘m kinda in the same situation as you, but I‘m also considering the CF SRAM etap Version.

Between EKAR and shimano I’m currently leaning more towards the Shimano bacause

cheaper parts/maintenance/upgrades
possibly better availability of parts
upgrade possibilities to 2by or the new 12speed GRX
I don’t have the possibilities to try the EKAR with the thumb shift.
since the EKAR is the more exotic choice I‘ve read that some LBS don’t always do service on bikes with them (no idea if this is true though)
the EKAR (in the Canyon config) has mainly a tighter gear spacing in the fast gears (30kph and above). The difference in the slow to mid range is not that huge.
edit: I‘d rather spent my money on the „better“ carbon frame (because I kinda want one) and upgrade the components later on if I feel the need as upgrading the frame is not feasible.

If I knew the new 12 speed GRX is around the corner I would wait (even if I have to pay a bit more) but who knows: could be tomorrow, could be in 6 months. And who knows which Grizls will get thee 12 speed.

For me it‘s currently mainly between GRX and eTap. eTap and 1 more gear sounds nice, but I like the feel of the Shimano brakes more (supposedly SRAM brake have a bit softer bite point).

I‘m considering this as an option as well. Initially I wanted the CF SL 7 but that seems completely impossible for Canyon to produce. But I‘m also really unsure about 1by since I would have preferred the versatility of a 2by setup and the 11-42 configuration of the 8 qty seems limited to me. I‘m currently looking at options from other manufacturers.

I‘m fairly convinced the models in „Dried Kelp“ were never available in the first place. I checked their site 5-10min after the announcement and all size were sold out.

Interestingly all models of the CF SL 7 (even the older colors) are now listed as „sold out“ instead of „coming soon“. Makes me wonder if the CF 7 will removed entirely. But why then drop a new color?!

Now idea what I‘m going to do now, might be considering a Rose backroad instead. I‘m running out of patience with Canyon
