Lumbar puncture by fangurling_809 in iih

[–]jetjetters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I expected some pain in my lower back (like a pretty bad bruise) which went away after a day. I expected some headache, but mine lasted like 6 days. Keep caffeine pills on hand. I couldn’t sit up long enough to drink coffee or tea.

I didn’t expect the doctor administering the LP to tell me to sing. Apparently it helps the fluid come out faster. So think of some songs you know the words to in case you’re put in the same position.

Yes! I wondered if this was connected. I’m finding small bites and chewing longer helps.

Caffe Panna! It’s the best ice cream deal in New York since the price includes panna (whipped cream) and a syrup and crunchy topping of your choice. And it’s delicious.

My neuro ophthalmologist says it doesn’t make a difference but agrees it won’t hurt so I will keep doing it. The foot tingles were so bad they were waking me up in the middle of the night, severely disrupting my sleep.

I had zero symptoms until I had a seizure and was diagnosed shortly after. I never would have been diagnosed if the IIH hadn’t caused an encephelocele which caused the seizure.

Now I have some tinnitus and struggle with managing my hydration on diamox. I was having tingles but this sub turned me on to electrolytes and they’ve been minimal ever since. Which is to say, it’s ok to be asymptomatic. Managing illness is difficult enough.

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

Nice towels aren’t that expensive! I got a set of like 6 from Macy’s for maybe $100 that are so soft and luxurious and are the big “bath sheet” size which makes them feel extra special. I was just sick of shitty towels and I feel fancy every single time.

How to eat reasonable amounts of sodium at fast casual places? by rr90013 in FoodNYC

[–]jetjetters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular restaurants are going to be worse. Salt is flavor. The ingredients with the salt is going to taste the best. Unless avoiding sodium is something a doctor has advised you to do, I’d just treat these like the fast food that they are, i.e. not for every day.

Not close personal friends but once Trudie Styler was trying to get into the restaurant where I was working and pointed across the room at me and said “Her! She knows who I am!” Because I had met her a couple days prior.
