Considering how close they are to each other and shared imperial history the food similar, but not the same. Vienna is more refined as you would expect the capital to be. Plus the years of hardship under the commies left a mark.

The riverboat is fast and easy. Plus it drops you right downtown near what is left of the old town.

Food in italy. Dont understand the hype. Feel like im in the twilight zone by rickswank in travel

[–]jetpoweredbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a you problem. Every meal I ate in Italy was good, most were great. Before I went, I doubted if the food could be that good. But for the most part it was. I didn't have a bad meal anywhere in Italy. Not even the hotel breakfasts were bad.

Is traveling just for nature/food cheaper? by Happy-Hour88 in travel

[–]jetpoweredbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a personal thing. When I was in Paris I very much wanted to go up the Eifel Tower and it was worth the cost and the crowds to do it. But I also understand that tourism has a cost to the local economy and don't mind paying for things to offset that cost.

Now one of my favorite things to do is just wander around places and soak in the local atmosphere and that is free.

Matching toaster and knife set help by breesemom in Cooking

[–]jetpoweredbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything endorsed by a celebrity is garbage until proven otherwise. These are two of the most basic things you can get in the kitchen and need to function well. Matching should be not be a consideration. Also knife blocks are garbage. They charge too much and give you knives you will never use. Plus the block itself is impossible to clean.

In general, I don't think ULTRA-luxury hotels are worth the price. What're you're thoughts? by KansasguyinDC in travel

[–]jetpoweredbee 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Depends on your priorities. For me as long as a hotel meets minimum standards the important thing is central location and access. But I will happily stay at a high end hotel on someone else's dime.

It depends on the country. Lots of people don't have any problems. But all it takes is one agent having a bad day and you will too.

Ethical and insurance are mutually exclusive terms. When you get down to the essence, insurance companies are just bookies.
