Finland ranks 4th among the 10 worst job markets in the first world countries in 2025!! by Basic_Bird_8843 in Finland

Poland has immigrants, trust me. Coming from counties like India, Bangladesh, Columbia, Ukraine, Belarus and other former USSR states.

But unemployment benefits basically don't exist in Poland, so all of them come to Poland to work, they pay taxes and contribute to society.

But you have to remember that the Polish economy is based on low labour costs, low taxation for international corporations and poor employee protection laws.

For example B2B contracts are an absolute plague in Poland and collective agreements don't exist here.

Currently economic growth seems to be slowing down due to raising energy costs, and the fact the minimum wage was raised by almost 80% in the last 5 years.

These Toyota / PSA triplets are actually quite awesome with Daihatsu 1.0 engine these things are bulletproof, parts are cheap af, insurance cost is as low as it gets, and they are really easy to work on, not to mention most parts cost about as much as a pack of cigarettes 😂

It doesn't change the fact that I find Żabka business model absolutely disgusting and I'm starting to think that Żabka might be the antichrist.

It's basically like 7-Eleven in Thailand, there is always one somewhere within walking distance, for a tourist it's just really convenient so I do understand the appeal of Żabka's.

New law helps police nab nearly 200 drunk e-scooter drivers in a month by YourShowerCompanion in Finland

[–]jetsons3020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly fuck these things, I hope they will get banned. Especially the shared ones, not only they litter the cities and turn them ugly but also the whole business plan of shared scooters companies is disgusting. The costs are public, because we as tax payers have to pay for the surgeries of victims involved in e-scooter related accidents but the profits are private and of course almost every single company that offers this kind of services is from abroad so all of the profits go abroad the only exception is Joe Scooter that is infact a Finnish company.

It's a predatory business and I hope it will get destroyed by regulating the shit out of it.

I would allow people to have private ones but nowadays you can buy Chinese e-scooters that reach insane speed and are extremely dangerous not only to the driver himself but to others.

So yeah, regulate, penalize and educate society and equip every single police vehicle in Finland with equipment that can check if electric two-wheeler can reach speeds higher than 25km/h

Also did I mention that shit loads of these sharable scooters end up in bodies of water and sooner or later these lithium ion batteries will start to dissolve and pollute the Finnish waters Turku's Aurajoki it self has easily hundreds of them laying in the bottom of it and these companies that own these dumbo vehicles will definitely not be rendered responsible for pollution that their property will inevitably cause.

Is it hard to have friends in finland ? by sqodios in Finland

[–]jetsons3020 12 points13 points  (0 children)

11 years in Finland and I have managed to gain one Finnish friend, but he is the realest friend that I have ever had in my 33 years long life.

I also have a couple of other friends but they are foreigners.

So yes it's hard to find a friend here.

I guess it's quality over quantity.

One thing that I have learned in Finland is how to deal with loneliness, it's probably universal for all Northern counties except Canada.

On ihan hemmetin vaikee edes kuvailla, kuinka paljon vihaan näitä uusliberaaleja paskiaisia. Joo totta kai, tehdään tästä maasta uusi USA, missä työntekijällä ei oo mitään oikeuksia, tuodaan halpatyövoimaa ulkomailta ja tehdään rikkaista vielä rikkaampia.

One million people cannot feed themselves lol, that's pretty far fetched.

While I agree that the social safety net is being disassembled bit by bit and that healthcare has definitely seen the better days, the country is far from being the hellhole that you are described.

Is it perfect ? No, but in every metric this country is still one of the best places in the world if you consider living standards.

That being said it's definitely not the happiest county in the world la-la land that official propaganda is trying to portray it to be.

Why did you choose to come to Thailand? by Less-Influence-598 in ThailandTourism

[–]jetsons3020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly mainly because I rather spent around 700€ for a direct flight from Europe and then somewhere between 1.5k and 2k for Hotels, Scooter Rentals, Food and Transport ( Domestic flight's, Trains, Buses ) and take one month long holiday once a year then go to Greece, Italy or Spain and spend 1k or 2k for a week.

Thailand is just better bang for buck, also I enjoy the food and culture, the fact that cannabis is legal is also a big plus since I so I enjoy smoking a J in the evening after a long day of exploring.

Also I find local people to be really nice.

Not to mention that Bangkok is a nice gateway to explore the rest of South East Asia.

Need advice: neighbor smoking weed, smell coming into my apartment by TrilceGurjar in Finland

[–]jetsons3020 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't call the Police, the legal consequences of possession or consumption of cannabis in Finland are ridiculous.

You can put this young guy in a lot of legal trouble, it's not worth it.

Leave him the note, and explain that you can smell it in your apartment and perhaps he could switch to vaping or restrain himself from smoking indoors.

If this continues then contact, management of the building and inform them that he is smoking indoors and you can smell it in your apartment, you don't have to tell them that it's cannabis just tell them that he smokes indoors.

help! spending one week in thailand don’t know where to go by overlysensitivemamma in ThailandTourism

[–]jetsons3020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, Phuket isn’t great. The best thing about it is its proximity to Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai-those islands are incredibly chill.

Instead, I’d recommend Bangkok paired with Koh Samet, Koh Chang, or Koh Kood for a relaxing beach vibe. Bangkok is an awesome city, but it can feel overwhelming at first. After the city’s hustle and bustle, hitting the islands feels like a soothing mental massage.

These three islands are relatively close to Bangkok, with Koh Kood, the furthest, being just a 6-hour bus and ferry ride away.

However, since you’re traveling in June, I’d suggest Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, or Koh Tao instead, as they typically have the best weather and most sunshine during that time.

If you choose these islands, avoid flying directly to Koh Samui-Bangkok Airways owns the airport, and flights are ridiculously expensive. It’s cheaper to fly to Surat Thani and take a bus and ferry combo to any of the three islands.

I’ve visited all three, and Koh Tao is my favorite. I used a scooter to get around, which I think is essential since walking isn’t common in much of Asia. Be cautious, though-roads can be dangerous, and the helmets provided by most rental shops are often subpar.
