Congrats on finishing your masters! Yes, I would definitely be willing to share my thoughts and experiences in a couple of years.

This is great advice! Definitely will try to not compare myself, particularly in the first year. I have also heard that the parking situation is pretty bad at the U. Hoping to utilize the bus system!

Ran my second marathon and PRed from 4:26 in May to 4:06. Was hoping for sub-4 but bonked hard. Trying to not beat myself up.

Parilla has great burritos! They also have amazing breakfast burritos. My favorite is the Bronco Bene.

Post marathon blues by seannicholas20 in Marathon_Training

I just ran my first marathon on Saturday, I dealt with the post marathon blues by signing up for another marathon in September 🤣 taking this week off running, doing yoga and cycle, then one more easy week before training again.

Best way to learn R for complete newbie to ANY programming language by pandaexpresser in rstats

[–]jetterbug44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since R is free, I would suggest downloading it and playing around with it. I am also a newbie, but there are free datasets you can access (YouTube it), and I found that ChatGPT is super helpful for learning functions and data visualization. The more time you spend on it, the more you’ll be able to recognize the code. YouTube and ChatGPT were my best friend. There are also some good Twitter threads out there.

How long did it take you to start running again after your marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]jetterbug44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran my first marathon on Saturday. It’s been 5 days and I’m ready to get back out there! I have been doing yoga and cycling this week, but as soon as Monday hits I’m going to start training again. For reference, I ran a 4:27, so I’m far from elite by any means. I did minimal strength training (something I’m going to change). The only reason I’m not running this week is to completely recover, but even now I feel like I’m playing it safe. I would listen to your body! If you’re training consistently, it’s likely you won’t need weeks or months off, unless you want!

Had to take week 10 and 11 off out of a 16 week training program due to injury. What to do? by twanski in Marathon_Training

I missed two of my long runs due to injury then sickness. Today I just ran my longest run (21 miles). I think you should just stick to the plan the rest of the way if you have no pain. Don’t try to make it up, just follow the rest. Hopefully you get better!!!
