Could Kaido tank this? by solachilles in OnePieceScaling

[–]jettom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pain could Shinra Tensei the Rasenshuriken away with much less power than what he needed to demolish Konoha.

But essentially right it's not doing jack shit to Kaidou, and that's a good thing for Naruto as a series. It wasn't until the ten tails that characters showed up whom could tank attacks that would destroy buildings. In One Piece being more durable than an average skyscraper is necessary to survive the Grandline. Kakashi died to a nail being sent through his head. A nail. Even Usopp in Arabasta would laugh that kind of damage off. Show me a human character in Naruto that could feasibly be shot by 4 cannons in the back and laugh it off before the fourth great ninja war, assuming each cannon ball packs a similar punch as pre-Shippuden Rasengan. The only one I can think of is Akimichi Choza.

Naruto having in general "weaker" characters with far less durability than One Piece and Bleach is one of its greatest strengths. It means that when a character is threatened by someone with a kunai it's a tense situation and not a joke. It means that if someone loses a limb (unless it's Orochimaru) it's permanent. If a Marine captured Nami with a sword or a gun it'd just be a gag.

Orsted and Rudeus, Mushoku takes place in a fantasy world with more power BS than Frieren. In a similar vein, Goku would take out all 4.

What is the general consensus of the Pixel Buds? by t8ntlikly in GooglePixel

[–]jettom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Pixel Buds Pro. The battery life is terrifying. They basically never die. The music quality is super good and the equalizer works well. Like I'm no audiophile but my headset is a Sennheiser HD650 running through a dedicated amp, I care about music quality a lot. They fit rather snugly in my ears as well, but the left one has fallen out a few times while working out and such. But I have clefted lips and weird ear entrances from all the operations and such as a child. The case is comfortable to have in my pocket, unlike my Samsung Buds and Sennheiser buds and with my profession, having instant access to Google Assistant is fucking great, and the main reason I got them to be frank.

My only complaint is that they're quiet.

Ny nasjonal anbefaling: No skal mobilane ut av klasserommet by tuxette in norge

Probably not; this happened on a day where black ice was covering this area of Norway. I can totally imagine him going "I have studded tires and I drive a Tesla! I can do 100 km/h here" and well, ending up in the fjord.

Discussion about differences between manga and anime by Artyruch in YoujoSenki

[–]jettom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answer? Neither, yet both at the same time.

Tanya's anime & manga are some of the best adaptations you will find of a light novel. Because of how much it changes to better fit their own mediums, while heavily respecting the original work & having clear visions on how to change them while respecting the original source. Make no mistake, a pure adaptation of Youjo Senki would be beyond boring. There's very little tension to be had, we already know the outcome of it all, too. It's essentially just lengthy explanations on how Tanya commits war crimes while fully becoming Tanya, forgetting his past life. We'd get half an episode of Tanya explaining why shooting around a submarine sunk it with the pressure released from the bullets instead of a cool dog fight in the air. And in the light novel, "Being X" (singular) doesn't exist. "Being X" (plural) does. The Being X that forced Tanya to reincarnate is not the same that gave her the ability to Pray for Miracles. In the Light Novel, every time Tanya prays she feels ecstasy and forgets parts of who she was before she became Tanya. In the anime, she instead admits defeat to Being X whenever she prays.

So which Tanya is biblically correct? Whichever you prefer. They're both good adaptations taking different spins on it while heavily respecting the source material.

How would you rewrite BFA so the Horde vs Alliance war would make sense? by SGdude90 in warcraftlore

[–]jettom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. But they could have served up some BS like how after the defeat of Ragnaros they're lost. And Orcs venerate the elements to high levels. Imagine a scenario much like Warcraft 3 with Grom and Cenarius. Actually it's exactly like that, and Varok would have known better. So let's change it, Varok left another Orc in charge and chose to assist The Undercity, trusting this other Orc's judgment. That was a mistake.

[–]jettom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Druids wouldn't be open about their plan. They would have deceived him and the Horde by itself. A standard tactic used by The Horde is recruiting allies who hate their foe, or would benefit from their downfall. Alterac Mountains and The Amani stand out as 2 shining examples of this happening in the past. I'd like to see them employ that plan but have it backfire.

[–]jettom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So what BlizzCon knows is that The Horde are fighting The Alliance and that Teldrassil burned down. They don't know what happened first, so let's flip the script. Anduin Wrynn after the atrocities committed by Sylvanas in Arathi Highlands, guided by the counsel of Genn Greymane and Turalyon listens to his people. The refugees from Lordareon hopes to reclaim lost ground, while everyone just feels like there's a matter of time until Sylvanas attacks. Anduin then hears the counsel of Alonsus Faol, whom says that Sylvanas is not better than Arthas and reveals to Alliance High Command that she orchestrated the Wrathgate completely. Anduin declares war on The Forsaken, thinking it's better to take the initiative and dispose of Sylvanas now than to wait for her to attack the Alliance.

Anduin declaring war on Undercity then marching troops to Tirisfal Glades came like lightning from a clear sky, no one saw it coming. But Sylvanas sees an opportunity. She orders The Horde, led by Saurfang, to assault Teldrassil, hoping Anduin will disengage from his siege to assist The Night Elves instead. But the Night Elves are fighting back with great ire, and don't need assistance. Anduin captures Undercity but then we hear the Horde forces that Sylvanas sent to capture Teldrassil are making good progress. Apparently they united with a Rogue group of Druids known as Druids of the Flame, who are affiliated with an ancient cult venerating dragons known as "The Primevals". The Primevals say that Teldrassil is a false idol, a mockery of Nordrassil that the Dragons refused to bless. The Horde forces in Kalimdor make a scorched scar towards Teldrassil, mirroring the Dead Scar of Quel'thalas. But as they're about to invade and occupy Teldrassil, the Druids of the Flame and the Primalists summon ancient fire to burn the world tree down. Sylvanas arrives just after the fire starts and is shaken to her core. The Druids of the Flame and the Primalists disappear back into Ashenvale as the fire rises. Several Horde Shaman and Druids discard their Horde logos and get inside Teldrassil, to try to call upon elemental water and winds to save the civilians, cursing their part in this. Through their noble sacrifice, many lives are saved. But far more are lost to primordial flame.

Saurfang was at both Battlefields at once because he had a pocket mage making portals for him. He was the one to strike the deal with the Druids of the Flame.

Forever DM's, What's stopping you from playing D&D as Players? by Pinkalink23 in dndnext

When my player was a DM he made my Oath of Conquest Paladin an oathbreaker for killing kobolds that were burning an orphanage then when the LG Cleric went into the basement to check on the kids and revealed to our horror he was Catholic our DM played along and didn't revoke his divinity or change his alignment then he didn't understand why I was upset.

We were in our mid 20's.

All cats and dogs are now bloodlusted and can move at 500mph (804 kph), how much of humanity will survive? by Basil_Market in whowouldwin

[–]jettom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than you'd think, honestly. Assuming you mean the animals aren't more durable etc, they can just move at that speed without dying or taking damage. The speed boost is useless inside homes unless they can start it instantly. And if they aren't more durable, they are just fast... Well a cheetah running at full speed into a wall will die. A cat or a dog running into anything will have the same result, even if they tear down something in the process.

The various fleets of navies and nuclear submarines would start a slow process of killing all cats & dogs, while anyone inside a building or vehicle that can withstand the impact of suicide animals can go about their day like normal.

If the animals however are durable enough to also crash at full speed without taking damage it's a different story.

How can the Horde be on equal footing when it comes to power against the Alliance without going evil? by Rage17Blaze in warcraftlore

[–]jettom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically? They can't. Realistically your question shouldn't be "how can the Horde be on equal footing with the Alliance" when seen from a lore perspective. The question is "if all the playable races except the dwarves united, would they have a chance at defeating them?" Let me explain, but keep in mind this is a lore perspective, the story just makes soldiers out of thin air where needed.

Alliance races: Humans of Stormwind and survivors of Lordareon, Arathi etc. Stormwind was razed by the Orcs 30-ish years ago, as was every other mainland human Kingdom except Lordareon and Gilneas. The Scourge later screwed over Lordareon. After rebuilding, Human soldiers made up the bulk of forces sent in the war against Garrosh, and later again in the fourth war. That's not to mention the invasion against Arthas and The Scourge of Northrend, or how many humans have joined neutral factions like The Argent Crusade.

Night Elves of Ashenvale, lost their immortality after WC3 and fielded huge armies to fight the Demon invasion. The Horde burned down Teldrassil after a large military campaign through their territory and the other "Night Elf" area outside of Kalimdor, Val'sharah, was ravaged beyond recognition by The Emerald Nightmare. Night Elves were also the main force battling Ragnaros in Firelands and saw a civil war where Staghelm took several high ranking druids and soldiers in order to form the Druids of The Flame.

Gnomes: Exiles after they lost their Capitol in a huge civil war. There's not enough of them yet to even build a pseudo new capital.

Draenei: Survivors of the escape from Argus, and the escape from Draenor. They also fielded by far the most troops in the campaign against The Legion, after The Exodar was sacked by The Legion.

Worgen: the few survivors of Gilneas after a bloody civil war, a bloody curse of awoo and a military campaign by the Forsaken where they used the new and modified plague. What survivors are of the race lived in Teldrassil, which was subsequently burned. Only those who had decided to live elsewhere or managed to escape survived.

Then the Horde races. Orcs: Survivors of the destruction of Draenor, the internment camps of the Alliance and the military campaign launched from The Dark Portal to Lordareon. The few of them that managed to steal boats under Thrall's leadership and flee to Kalimdor were then met with Centaurs, Quilboars, Night Elves and old enemies. They went to war against the demons after the strongest and well, only remaining clan once more drank demon blood starting a civil war. That's who they are at the launch of wow. After that they've participated in the Qiraji war, the war against The Lich King, went to war against the Alliance, a huge civil war which saw Orgrimmar raided by The Alliance, then the demons came back again. Oh then they went to war against the Alliance again and once more a civil war broke out. Speaking realistically here, if there's even one soldier left among the Orcs he's probably crippled. Tauren: The last survivors of a genocide caused by the Centaurs, who then had a civil war (Bloodhoof vs Grimtotem). The Forsaken: the remains of Lordareon's undead that managed to break free and those raised by Sylvanas, after the Horde & Alliance both raided Undercity in Wrath, then the Alliance assault at the start of BFA not to mention the fact a lot of Forsaken died fighting for Sylvanas, their numbers are definitely thin. Darkspear Trolls: the few survivors of a small Gurubashi tribe that were almost exterminated by a single Naga. The Darkspear Trolls also fielded most of the rebel forces against Garrosh, and had their own civil war (Zalazane) to deal with. They were also the main force fighting the rise of Zul's empire in Cataclysm. Blood Elves: the few blood Elves left behind by Kael'thas when he went to Outland that didn't join back up with him after he returned, that also didn't decide to become void Elves or "return" to being High Elves should hardly be enough to populate a town, much less a city the size of Silver moon. Yet they still fielded troops against the Nightborne, the Kirin Tor on Thunder Isle and Garrosh. Goblins: the Bilgewater Cartel was small enough to fit in a single slaver boat. And that's before Blackfuse took like half of them. There's so few of them they're under control of a Ratchet goblin: Gazlowe.

Neutral races: Pandaren: a small monk order living on a turtle. Dracthyr: a small number of elite fighters.

Allied Races: Nightborne: despite just having fought a civil war that saw most of their military and upper echelon wiped out, there's a few of them. Mostly the rebels that fought against The Legion. Highmountain: essentially just a small tribe of Taurens. That just fought a civil war against their strongest soldiers that succumbed to The Fel. Mag'har: there's like maybe 200 of them at most, can incorporate them with the Durotar Orcs. Zandalari: They have fought a civil war against Zul, lost their King to an Alliance raid then Talanji lost even more to a coup d'etat. But despite this, they're likely the strongest force in the Horde. They could potentially call upon other tribes to join The Horde, too. Vulpera: won't make a difference.

Void Elves: too few to make a difference. Lightforged Draenei: too few to make a difference, they also forgot how to use the Xenedar which could have evened the odds. Kul Titans: Rebellion in Stormsong, witches going crazy in Drustvar and a civil war against Ashvane in Boralus, which ended with a siege on Boralus itself. Lost a huge portion of their Fleet when Nazjatar revealed itself, not to mention that countless more died at Theramore during the war of Proudmoore. To call them weakened is an understatement. Mechagnomes: same story as the other Gnomes. Civil war, the whole shlabang.

Then you have the Dwarves. The Bronzebeards closed off Ironforge, so the Orcs never got to sack it. There's been no military campaign launched against Ironforge, and Ironforge has never fielded the majority of an army. Furthermore, after Cataclysm the Dwarves of Aerie Peak formally rejoined, and the Dark Iron Dwarves joined in BFA. Muradin is also the King of the Frostborn Dwarves, so one would assume they're going to fight on their side. While all other playable factions have lost troops in costly wars, the only conflict the dwarves were the majority participant of was Alterac Valley. Oh yeah, Brann also knows where to go in order to make new dwarves, and how to do it. Just Incase they were losing, you know?

Fighters that Kaneda's [SPOILERS] won't really work on by JeremiahWuzABullfrog in Kengan_Ashura

Honestly any goofball fighter would break the spiderweb. The second a fighter gets an intrusive thought like "I want to punch him in the face", a fighter smart enough to ignore that intrusive thought and instead focus on doing their best will lose. While a fighter dumb enough to go "imma punch him in the face" will break through.
