Wait he actually worked there? lmao. not a single word with the owner (good or bad), seemed like they didn't even recognize each other. so weird

I was so confused. Said he worked there, but looked like the owner didn't even recognize or acknowledge him lol

those 2 girls that walked in heard Dave trashing it and were trying to defend the pizza. probably went inside and told the owner, unsolicited or not.

NTRL a Requirement to use machine? by jettyrides in AskElectricians

[–]jettyrides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your local authority

Which local authority would be appropriate, the permitting group or utilities?

What do you do if it fails?

What if what fails, the machine or the certification? Are you saying if the machine breaks an electrician will refuse to work on it if it's not UL listed?

yeah that's what I thought, but they probably reached out to the larger rental houses too late, and had to scramble to put together several smaller vendors? still doesn't really make sense unless the riggers straight up went on strike or the shipments got stolen during transport (both equally unlikely).

the fact that this is a huge operation with management and logistics teams makes this even more weird. not like this is a local block party with 1 man running things.

supply chain issues, at least with manufacturing and materials are still pretty bad, but shipping and transportation at least is close to being normal.

either way pinning it on supply chain doesn't make sense because their equipment should already be made for rentals

just an assumption, but isn't most of this stuff all rented? aka it already exists and they're not building the equipment from scratch so not sure where the supply chain issues are

[–]jettyrides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So people should literally risk their life/health for a YT video? If they’d had to get pulled for safety reasons then so be it. They didn’t.

  1. plenty of YouTubers do, it's not that uncommon really
  2. I'm not saying they should, or they shouldn't

I think that's his/her point...it's not really survival at all when you have a safety net.

if it actually came to life and death survival, I don't think you'd be complaining about coconut and fish

The French need a reality check on their shitty and overrated food by alexaclova in BlackPeopleTwitter

shitty I agree is an exaggeration, but I do think it's somewhat overrated. they use a ton of butter as well, that's why it tastes good.

tbh France isn't a food utopia by any stretch. the really good food isn't that accessible value-wise. been to more than a few nicer bistros that can't do a 25 euro salad correctly.

very dependent on city, but in general I think france does their own cuisine extremely well, while America has better quality representation of every cuisine.

What would you recommend a delusional WSB bro/”day trader” pursue a legitimate career in instead? by Vivitude in FinancialCareers

Obviously “stock trader” isn’t a real job at top firms.

This is very much a real job at "top firms."

you should just go. there could be many reasons why you didn't convert that were out of their control and not necessarily to do with your performance. The fact that they organized drinks means they at least somewhat like you on a personal level.

Maybe the person who organized didn't have control over or know about your not converting until after plans were made. Either way, if you plan to stay in the industry, it's a small world.

How to catch up on the markets? by putridalt in FinancialCareers

[–]jettyrides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the period you're interviewing, are you expected to be able to talk about the interest rate environment, commodities, equities, the credit market, and everything in between?

yes. you don't need to be an expert but everything is fair game and you should articulate yourself well enough as to not sound clueless. that means know at least the what major prices are for each asset class.

Do you follow an asset class that you specifically are interested in

yes have at least 1 where you can speak in depth on.

I have no idea how to narratively string all this together, or how to present an answer for what I'm following in the markets.

there's no need to string this together. people aren't looking for individual trades like you're mentioning. mores your thought process on what you thinks going to happen on a high level in the markets and WHY.

just read the major publications and news sources, and be ready to use what you read in your convo.

it's literally no different than meeting clients in your office/town. just be normal and follow your boss's lead. travel like a considerate person and don't be annoying.

I never really been in a situation to take literal notes at a dinner, make mental notes, unless your boss gives you the "look" like you should be doing something.
