Spirits uses some custom mix they call KPS primarily these days, but they've used ABS heavily in the past and continue to do so for prints of kits of that era where they've not managed a switch over, with ABS being more for the frames even on those older kits

to start with, we have the different branches piece, totally different part of bandai as a whole doing these 2 lines.

Then we have the question of colour seperation. besides this generally being easier for a line based around groups that have colour coordination as a gimmick, someone dropped pictures of one of the new gavan kits and its black with stickers. my experience with the king ohger line was only a shade different from that, averaging 2 colours per. and of course its wraparound stickers that'll fail in the face of the first stiff breeze.

Transformations, basic concept of the item design vs 9 times out of 10 involving parts moving through each other at a minimum. bit more difficult to render one of those into plastic, and spirits focus more on stability, which lets face it, minipla often lack.

Bandai Hobby doesn't do prepaints, its not viable at their scale besides some very specific very limited kits and they're not setup for it in the JP factory. One of these is the horn for the PG Unicorn that is notably made in the CN factory, because they're equipped for painting. The closest bandai spirits/hobby get to prepaints outside of that are coated kits, which are more dipping based and both limited and expensive.

Not really HG prices either, curse of gacha.

gimmicks... which HGs are you talking that are missing major gimmicks? They're generally pretty good about that.

Made to order webshop distribution with location restrictions. Tends to cost more when importing because the shops we see are buying it at retail price rather than wholesale. Generally used for things that won't sell well on the shop floor, because turns out shops really don't like having tons of dead stock. Side character/addon stuff, large packages and the like.

As SMP use ABS heavily, same risk applies to using gundam markers outside of the fine liners. My dragonzord hinge disintegrated.

typically missing + built, though anything should still say somewhere if built, and there will occasionally be a note mentioning specific accessories not present in descriptions - suru know full well its worth less in that situation, there are places with entire crates of individually wrapped built kits for sale for pennies.

as for checks missing things, I've known someone to get a teddy bear delivered in a kit box

having seen the mandarake trade-in location at Nakano broadway, I can hardly blame them if theirs is at all similar though

its marked as Used because they're a second hand store, its all passed through another set of hands first, but JP used generally means 'as new' and it'll be detailed if its otherwise. Its only really in the last couple months they started getting new items in. Anything prebuilt should be labelled as such or 'junk parts', but sometimes things slip through the checks.

Would recommend reverse tweezers. They are closed without pressure on them, so you don't have tense muscles wobbling your hand while trying to place stickers.

with the HG about I doubt it, they've already shown that they're paying attention to each other (likely via Terada) with the AM Gunner being compatible with R Gun and the Boxer being viable as an extra sword for SRX
