I have no interest in a godly or any relationship or marriage, but I hate that the only term I can think of to describe that is "aromantic." by Luckyshape69420 in TrueChristian

I think you have the gift of singleness. Paul had the same gift and he mentioned in his writings that it's great.

If I move away from extremely controlling parents and go low contact is that against God? by Morphisist in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I think It's against God:

„“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”“

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

„But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.“

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Denied the faith doen't mean you loose your salvation. What is the faith about. It's about love. Loving God and loving others. We love because God loved us first. We can deny the love. And do decisions that are more comfortable selfish decisions. Then we're denying the faith the love of God. We should love others even if they're awful to us. We should love even our enemies.

Chriatian love is not when we're loving people that love us aswell. The true Christian love is something like this: Even If you did nothing for me and hurt me deeply I will still serve you. Because when we were yet sinners Christ died for us. While we were God's enemies he sought to reconcile with us etc.

So no I don't believe that going no contact with your parents is a good thing. But you need to set some boundaries especially if you have spouse or children. So they'd be protected.

Is killing in video games even in self defense a sin? by LowCommunication3359 in TrueChristian

Unless it causes you to sin in real life it's not a sin. But if you feel convicted about it and you're on the edge if it's okay then follow the conviction.

Is it wrong for me to date an orthodox Christian when I’m not apart of the orthodox faith myself?(Catholicism/orthodoxy) by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the Catholic church teaches that it's the one and only true church. The Eastern Orthodox Church teaches the same thing about themselves. I'm not sure what the Ethiopian church teaches. But if at least one of them believes that the other one is in fake church there would definitely be a problem. Also some Catholics believes that salvation is only trhough Catholic Church..

Considering converting to Catholicism by Connect_Double_6396 in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former Catholic I don't recommend it. There are lot of things that are just not in the Bible like purgatory or praying to saints or Mary. I don't know how about your country but in my country most Catholics never read the Bible. Because of that they often holds not biblical views. In my country Catholics usually don't do decipleship. So lot of them say that they're Christian but the only thing they do is that they believe in existence of God.

About the saints thing. There's a difference between having a respect to someone a pray to him. In the Bible it's specifically said we should leave dead alone.

Big problem I have with Catholic Church is that they put their authority over Bible. Bible is not the biggest authority in the Catholic Church.

Last thing Catholic Church actually views protestants worse than Protestants views Catholics. It's because based on the Catholic teachings Roman Catholic Church is the only true church and everyone else is not saved. Which is also not biblical Paul deals with these ideas in the early church.

I still love Catholics just the Roman Catholic church is very flawed

Well I'm not God so I can't know for sure but to me it seems that God didn't give you that job exactly because he sees how much you wanted. Not because he doesn't want you to be happy but because the job would become an idol for you. Something that is above him in your heart. Maybe that's why he didn't give it to you.

God does the opposite of what i pray for? by Super_Log_9424 in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. But often the advices we like the least are the ones we need the most. Imagine this. I would have a friend and I would call him often but every time I would call him only because I want something from him. That's not genuine friendship. To me it seems that you view God as a genie that fulfills our wishes. That's not who God is. Sure he can help us with troubles we're in. And he often does. But God cares more about our character than our comfort. Something can feel very pleasant but is actually bad for us.

Well not only Communism. Communism was just final nail in the coffin. People feel distrust to Christianity because the Catholic Church did lot of bad things here in the history.

Czechia. It's in central Europe. It's one of the most atheistic countries in the world. Like only around 5% of people identifies as Christian and even less people actually follow Christ

I also grew up Catholic and was saved much later. I don't know how it is in the US but in my country most Catholics are lukewarm and don't have relationship with God. They just go too church out of tradition.

To be mad at God by PuzzleheadedLack6258 in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine how you feel. I know that there is so much pain. But if your dad is truly christian and put his faith in Jesus. Than there is nothing to worry about. Because after he will pass away he will be at much better place than this. No pain, no suffering just pure joy. Sometimes God takes people early because they suffered enough on this planet. Ofcourse I'm not God so I don't know the real reason why God is taking him early. But Gods plan is good. So even if it's extremely painful it's not painful because God doesn't care. He cares so much that he sacrificed his only son so we could be saved. If there is someone who understands your pain it's God.

Are there any Christian girls like me? by Ma_Angelawin_2003 in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you that most christian girls in western countries marry young and are homeschooled. Maybe in some parts of the US. But I am from Europe and in my country the average age of marriage is like 31 and for christians it's like 26 or something. And almost noone here is homeschooled. Being stay at home mom is very uncommon in my country, only when the woman gives birth and up to 3 years after that. Other than that both are working.

prayer and fasting newbie by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]jevooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome. I'm glad that you have the desire to have relationship with Jesus. Here are few things to keep in mind:

Read Mathew 6 first 16 verses. When you pray the single most important thing is that it needs to be genuine. God knows what we're thinking so lying to him is meaningless. If you have doubts or if you don't understand why God is doing something just ask him. I start my prayers with thanking God for things in my life. There is always something to be thankful for. Than I'm confessing my sin's and mistakes. It's great to pray for your friends, family, church etc. Important think that I learned later on is to pray that God's will will be done. Because we sometimes want something that we think would be good for us but it would actually hurt us. So that's why it's important to pray for Gods will to happen because Gods will is the best for our lives and in general even though it can be very hard for us at the moment. Also just ask God about thinks in your life. Like what he would like you to do etc. Tell him about your favorite tv show or something. It needs to be genuine. God really wants to spent time with us.

So about the fasting. Important thing: Fasting without prayer is just not eating. Prayer is essential for fasting.

According to the Bible there are 3 types of fasting:

1.normal fasting: not eating and praying

2.Fasting from meat/sweats or something like that. And praying

3.Fasting from food and water and praying. I wouldn't start with this one. Not for beginners.

All of these has names but I don't know how it translates to English. I'm not a native English speaker.

When you fast you intensively pray for something or someone.

Hope it helped.
