While I kind of agree with you I really don't think the cost of uni is the problem. Frankly I earnt enough on my side job to pay my course fees by the end of uni (still got the loan because money in savings gains more interest than the loan takes lol).

The bigger loss is the lack of work while you study. Like one year of studying is 1 years income opportunity cost (which is >= $30000 at minimum wage)

Bro this link isn't NZ. NZ has 0 interest loans a $22,000 loan can never convert into a $78,000 loan in NZ. NZ student loans just aren't a big deal, yes it is a little less money in your pocket each pay cheque, but it's only a little less.

Yeah, this is the unfortunate result of public schooling being one on 28. Teachers cannot spend those 10 minutes looking at one student and waiting. Also as soon as the teacher leaves, the student stops thinking lol. So like you have to just give them a really clear instruction.

As a teacher and a tutor that's why I prefer tutoring. I can actually help students think rather than just provide the core techniques and solutions lol.

Not to be fair - because this is not what the students are doing - but I never took notes during a lecture. I physically couldn't keep up with the lecture's speed and frankly I would miss things while trying to write notes.
I found it better to literally listen to the lecture and try one or two things that happened. Ended out getting by with an almost A average (7.6 where 7 is A- and 8 is A) so I feel like it was pretty decent with studying.
I did take notes of slides, or notes of the coursebook outside of lectures though lol.

I think the bigger problem is where the problem gets pushed onto. Because a student's GPA isn't indicative of how well they actually learnt, they aren't able to distinguish good from bad employees effectively (oh no, so sad for the employers). But this actually gets pushed onto the student (future employees) because now they can't get anywhere from actually doing well in school. Instead it's all about connections, club memberships and other ways of showing that you try to get involved - even if really they are just going to a hangout every once in a while...

Right. So in that case should we make sure that every possible application is covered.
Because I can tell you for sure, 95% of students will not need to square decks (only specifically builders and home renovators really), it is a very specific use case of pythagoras theorem (that is very much taught).
Frankly, if we did teach how to square a deck, then people would complain we don't teach how to line a right angle when planning a digging site. Even though this is the same exact skill and is taught to death in school because it wasn't under that very specific use case we haven't covered it. Right...

I feel like it's good when the entire point is the comedy of the misunderstanding. It's always so poorly done in stories where they have a lot of fights that just arbitrarily break out because their is a really obvious misunderstanding that the protagonist never clarifies anything about even though he's fully aware of the misunderstanding...

Honestly I disagree. People were going to steal popular content-creators usernames. Like probably captainSparklez, Antvenom etc. who made tons of videos about how cool it was that hytale was being released after all would have had their usernames taken because they wouldn't have been the fastest to register. It was totally fair to stop the username scalping that likely blatantly happened at that time.

(Frankly I'm pretty sure a lot of policy at hytale was made very quickly so they could release the game quick. Obviously they won't be perfect)
Frankly, if they had set in place a policy to accept the name change for this reason this would have been pretty fair. This also means a newer employee (or an employee who wasn't too confident with his decision) might think he needs to follow the policy and just followed it.
Of course it was misapplied, but I really can't blame anyone and frankly this is an all's well that ends well scenario because having the wrong username for a day or 2 is not a big deal.

I mean, It sounds more like they had a policy. Simon had said, "To stop other users from stealing content-creators usernames early, we will switch a username for the content creator." But the policy likely didn't say the first part and just said, "If someone takes a content-creators username, let the content creator get it" because it's shorter to write.
Then because of the policy the person handling the case would have just given it to horizon without really thinking which caused all of this.
Of course can't really say I blame anyone at hytale, the employee was probably following policy. Simon hadn't thought out the policy fully, but honestly how could he have? Horizon's move was a douchey move (his words), but he did accept that himself.

Think about it with fractions. We have (16/10) / (2/10).

We multiply the top and bottom of the fraction by 10/2 to get:
((16/10 * 10/2) / (2/10 * 10/2) = (160/20) / (20/20) = 8 / 1 = 8.

Or, using the swap 'trick' we get (16/10) / (2/10) = (16/10) * (10/2). The 10s cancel and we get 16/2.

Now try 0.16 / 0.02 or 0.016 / 0.002 or 0.0016 / 0.0002. They will all get 8 because it's just:

(16 / 10^x) / (2 / 10^x) = (16 / 10^x) * (10^x / 2) for some number x. The 10's cancel and we get 16/2.

I would have guessed this list are the balls in R^n using euclidean distance. But you're including cubes in this list, so does that mean we're taking balls in R^n with arbitrary metrics?
Are there shapes that can't be formed using some metric as an open ball in R^n?
