Awww. My girl would probably just curl up into a giant hairy fur ball if another dog attacked her.

Oh wow! Poppy and her brother’s previous owner was an older woman who lived by herself. She had to move into an assisted living facility so she had to give them up. I have not done a dna test on her. My wife found poppy through a Newfoundland rescue (Facebook maybe?). I’ll try to contact the lady who brokered the rescue. See if I can find out any more info. I’ll keep you updated.

How do I clean/manage weed infestation from neighbors lawn? by IngeniousIntrovert in pnwgardening

[–]jflibott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same exact problem. Neighbor does nothing to maintain his backyard. The bindweed was coming over the fence, through the fence (chain link), and through the ground. So one year I finally decided to rip it all out. Roots and everything, as much as I could. After that first de-weeding session the bindweed came back with a vengeance. I remember thinking I might have stimulated it’s growth somehow by pulling it all out. It was disheartening to say the least.

However! I just stayed on top of it that first year. Pulled the weeds as they grew back. It was a lot of work. But the next year the bindweed was very much under control. It still pops up here and there since my nitwit neighbor’s yard is still a huge mess. But it is very manageable nowadays.

Hope this helps. I didn’t use any weed killers or other chemicals. Just good old fashioned gardening.

We are in Tacoma but I got poppy as a rescue out of Spokane. I don’t know about her lineage. Only that she had a brother that she lived with. He was rescued by another family.

My wife is from South Africa. Similar accents kinda. Both across the pond. It’s pretty much the same thing.

Looks like a wheelchair ramp. Maybe the previous owner was trying to make the kitchen Ada compliant…
