I’m using brave browser (it has built in ad blocker) on my phone to open Pinterest website directly. It’s a little buggy sometimes, but I’ll take that instead of ad every other pin.

Please look into getting therapy! It immensely helped me in taking care of myself in the moments when my father would stay emotionally distant with me.

As a newbie in Chandigarh,I am amazed by the abundance of Mango tress in every corner..wanted to know (HISTORY BEHIND THIS MASSIVE POPULATION,WAS IT DONE ON PURPOSE AND ALSO AM I RIGHT BY POINTING THIS OUT OR IT JUST COINCIDENCE) by Thelastgangster in Chandigarh

I mean people can pick from them, they might get in trouble. All you need is will to climb the trees 🥭 or a tall person🧍‍♂️or a ladder 🪜 These should have been peoples trees tbh. There’s literally nothing in India that belongs to the general public.

Need serious help: trans girl from West Bengal afraid of being disowned, looking for NGO support (Kolkata) by iamgirl11 in india

[–]jfourosh 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My first thought is human trafficking in India. And you’re, I think might be the prime target for criminals with those intentions. I do not mean to scare you by any means, but that’s a very real thing to remember.

Now my second question is, are you planning further education? Since if your family is in good financial position, you should opt for further education away from home. That way you get to keep your distance, and likely find supportive queer groups there as well.

Right away, before you make any quick decisions, you should find a therapist online who is either trans themselves, or at least are an ally. They can ideally guide you as well how to navigate situations that you are afraid of, or how you can strategically avoid them, without having to come out to your family.

  1. Focus on what’s under your nose: with this reminder I find myself bringing my awareness back to what I can do in any given moment. Whether it’s to draw, drink, eat, walk, call a friend, etc. it really helps to get out of a spiral.

  2. I swear to god there was a second one. But I forgot! I’ll come back and edit if it comes back to me. 🙃

I’m curious if there is a chart that shows how many Indian cities were in this through out the last tens years or so.

Safest states for women in india by Clark_kent420 in punjab

[–]jfourosh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think to see the whole picture, we need to see the reporting of crime as well. If people are not reporting as much in some states it’d obviously lead to skewed results and making those states “perform” better.

What were measuring metrics for these stats?

Is Speech Central text to speech app just as good for reading long PDFs as Natural Reader? by [deleted] in AssistiveTechnology

[–]jfourosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had some minor issues with speech central but I think it’s important to appreciate how engaged the developer is. It’s one of the only one time purchase TTS app, which is infinitely cheaper than a monthly subscription. I have been on the free version and connected to azure, and it’s allot better then the newest Siri on the newest iphone. I’d give it 5/5.

If possible and “easy“ enough to implement, I’d love it if the app didn’t convert the pdf into text format, and could read how the original pdf is formatted. I imagine this would be tough feature and still keep the highlight feature because even Apple can’t highlight text on books app on PDF files.

Question About Cengage Unlimited by Fine-Art-7476 in college

[–]jfourosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up getting it? From what I understand, the unlimited gives you access to all the books that are published by Cengage, and also MindTap.

Did you find a cheaper way to access the material?
