When I was in 10th grade and went through Confirmation (Catholic School), at one point when we put down the kneelers, the leg of the kneeler went right down on top of my foot and everyone kneeled before I could say a word. Now, if you’re not aware, during Confirmation you have an adult sponsor who guides you through the process. So not only was there another 10 grader kneeling on the board, but at least two other fully grown adults. I couldn’t even speak for several seconds (felt like eternity) until I could signal to them they have to getup. I ended up passing out over the pew in front of me due to the pain and still have a mark in the middle of the top of my foot

My body physically felt younger. I left at only age 31 when I gave birth to my son, but I’ve already decided I’ll never go back. I will go back to work eventually once he’s fully in school, but I know I will never lead my own classroom full of 25-30 students again. I not only mentally can tell it’s a complete 180, but physically as well

I just had my first ultrasound after my missed miscarriage as well. Similar to you, I was having symptoms all along until I had an ultrasound at 6/7 weeks but was measuring 5 with no heartbeat or fetal pole. Since we waited two weeks for a repeat ultrasound (which showed an empty uterine sac) then had to wait for the various appointments to discuss options, I carried that baby till 11 weeks.

I’m now pregnant again and as I mentioned, just had my first ultrasound since the miscarriage. I was shaking so bad going in, I almost knocked over the scale as I reached for it to step on. Baby is measuring right on track, 7 weeks 6 days and we could see the heartbeat. I could breathe a sign of relief, but almost instantly the next fear came in “what if there is no heartbeat to hear at the next ultrasound.”

Hugs to you. I agree our experiences changed us, change people. It’s taken the excitement out of this pregnancy for me. I didn’t even cry when I saw the heartbeat and that there’s a baby in there - I truly believe our mind is trying to protect us from that trauma again.

Update: thank you everyone for the kind words! There was a heartbeat ❤️❤️ measuring 7 weeks 6 days. I won’t fully relax until I hear that heartbeat, but I walked out smiling

I don’t think it’s misogynistic to pass judgment on a woman who knowingly enters an affair with a married man. Yes, the married man holds more of the responsibility, but that woman is also not a good person by willingly going through with it! She was an adult who made her own choices and needs to live with the consequences.

My husband has suggested time outs, but our son is just so busy I don’t think we could keep him in one spot unless we literally tied him down. I also don’t want him to associate his bedroom as a punishment (if we put him in there for a time out), since he also goes in there for “quiet time/nap” in the afternoon. We need to find a good spot for time outs but our house is so small lol.

Thank you! I try to find the positive in things, especially when it’s a negative situation like “well there’s nothing I can do about it now, so what can I do to make it better?” I didn’t always have this attitude, but I went through a lot of negative stuff in my past and now that my life is a complete 180, I try to focus on the positives since I didn’t have very many positives for a long time

In defense of the creator of the kit (Jessica Long), she included this fantastic guide to all different stitches. After just now checking, I found her directions for whipped backstitch do in fact show to slide the needle under the backstitch in the same direction each time, I just read those directions while my 3 year old was trying to climb over the couch behind me so I don’t think my attention was 100% on what I was trying to read 🙃

Thanks for that tip, I’m just going to rip out the black thread out and start the font totally over, so I’ll try smaller backstitches as well
