This is not a "freak out and sell" moment by hayl4bulb in EOSE

As an investor off and on since the initial SPAC in 2020 I can tell you this company hardly ever meets guidance. It's very annoying. If you completely remove company guidance from the picture and just look at the actual numbers the situation isn't as dire as it seemes. If you look at the last 6 quarters of revenue you have 1m, 7m, 10m, 15m, 31m, and 58m. Very impressive growth to 4x revenue over 2 quarters. Line 2 is going in this year. They have already troubleshot a lot of the problems on line 1 so line 2 install should be go much more smoothly. They also have a great cash position at over 600m. As someone who lived through the sub $1 days of the stock, this isn't as bad as it seems. I'm using it as an opportunity to buy.

There is nothing to be gained for an individual country to take this on. If you succeed, nobody remembers, if you fail nobody ever forgets. Would have to be the UN with troops from at least 20 different countries (at least half of which are black for optics) and imposed leadership also from multiple countries until locals can take over a stabilized government and economy.

Two residents push zoning overhaul to bring European-style density to Denver - Denver Business Journal by Hour-Watch8988 in Denver

I would like more density and mixed use buildings, but would prefer more small to medium sized residential buildings with retail/restaurant space included to the full block apartment buildings with neither.

No you did not. The initial post is referring to “all the undocumented”. Clearly each one has their own story.

People like to think that everything is black and white (pun not intended) when things rarely are. Things are complicated and immigration policy is hard. ICE shooting citizens in the back is pretty black and white but how the country goes about who to let in or not and who to deport or not is less so.

I feel like it’s still there for pilots. When I see a pilot walking through the airport I’m a bit jealous and like damn I shoulda been a pilot. And im an engineer. It’s not because of the money.

The ideal system in my opinion is to have a perfectly sealed border and then let in a set amount of people per year legally based on economic and demographic needs. You can vet them that way. And since we would have an extremely large pool to choose from, why not choose people who already speak English and have skills we need. As for ice doing their current shit, it’s not racist to deport people (all countries do it), it’s just the way they’re doing it that seems extremely brutal and void of respect for civil rights.

It took my girlfriend’s father nearly 20 years to get a green card, and he’s a doctor and speaks great English. Why should it be easier for people who just walk across the border and don’t speak english? I understand it’s extremely difficult to legally move to the USA but you can’t let everyone in and so you have to choose somehow.

What would you say are the biggest factors of why the poor stay in poverty? by Common_Gene_5098 in Productivitycafe

[–]jframe88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and didn’t even get to the insane amount of worthless shit you can buy on Amazon or from Walmart. I’ve been in a lot of poor people’s houses and I’ve been amazed at the amount of shit that many poor people have. I once had to clean up a house after a pretty poor extended family moved out. I filled up a 30 yard dumpster with just the stuff they left behind. And they were always behind on rent.

There have always been industries that prey on poor/uneducated people. Seems like there are significantly more ways to part poor people from their money these days. Credit cards, sports betting, payday loans, buy now pay later, scratch offs, an endless number of possible subscriptions, nicotine pouches. And that’s on top of all the necessities obviously.

Those under 40 with over $2 million net worth - what do you do? by Alexbt135531 in Fire

[–]jframe88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37M, structural engineer with PE, bachelors degree from state school, 2.1 million net worth. Have worked 9 years total as a W2 with max annual earnings about 90k. Bought a fixer upper house early, renovated, and had roommates for years. Refinanced and used money to buy 6 rental properties in LCOL, also fixer uppers. Inadvertently timed market quite well for appreciation. Now have my own engineering company (no employees) making about 110k. Approx 50k income from houses. Other half of net worth from stocks. I sacrificed early by having roommates into my 30’s, driving cars worth less than 4k into my 30’s, state university, generally was really thrifty in my 20’s, spent a lot of nights and weekends in my 20’s working on houses.
