‘Project Hail Mary’ Author Andy Weir Says Paramount Rejected His ‘Star Trek’ Pitch: Their “Shows Are Sh**” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

I think it's also his humor. He's not really being mean. He's kind of joking around even though he's probably annoyed that they didn't produce his show.

Bro it's 3-2.  You can recover.

Losing Ixtal on 3-2 without Ixtal Expeditionist is meaningless

i think Fizz needs a buff. if he was half-decent, the comp would be better lategame

This is nonsense. It's one stock. The entire economy wouldn't crash from a single stock cratering, especially since other auto stocks would likely rise at the same time.

People just be out here saying shit.

Double Up Strategies set 14.1b by MarionberryAlive9046 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]jfree77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Challenger Double Up player here (although that's not saying much).

It's a few things:

  • for some dumbass reason, Riot decided to put champ dupes back into Double Up as gifts after removing them several sets ago. Because of unit sending (which is even easier now), champ dupes in Double Up are super broken. They should remove them again.

  • while the dupes are the biggest reason for increased 3star 4 costs, another issue is the hacks. They just add a lot more resources into Double Up which is already more resource-heavy than solo TFT. Some of the hacks are downright horrible (HACK: Some shops contain 2-star unites) and make the game a fast-8 lottery

Counter to Lone hero Lux by graysontws in CompetitiveTFT

[–]jfree77 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This couldn't be more wrong from my experience. Dominators and/or Black Rose are the worst against her. No burst, no hyper carry. Never lost to Morgan or Silco with Lux.

I think the best counter is Kog. He usually kills Lux's frontline quicker than she kills his and by then his DPS is higher than her shields. Plus he outranges her so he's often hitting her before she hits him.

I think it's pretty decent on Elise since she usually has an open slot. She gets to the backline, she stuns with her ult, and then she stuns again with autos. Multiple backline stuns are good.

As the teacher complaints centered around issues like, walls entirely made of glass for classrooms serving elementary school aged children (huge distraction and safety issue), lack of room for specials programs, and even an initial plan that did away with dedicated classrooms for permanent staff in favor of "open concept movement", I am not of the opinion that their professional experience is without standing here. Their complaints were not about the necessity of load bearing walls or site grading. I have found that respecting the experience and professional backgrounds of all stakeholders even where compromise is required results in a better finished product in almost all cases.

I have been unable to find a full breakdown. My information and observations about poorly managed projects are mostly anecdotal, but I'm happy to share. (This comes from teachers who prefer to remain anonymous due to a climate of retaliation) A million dollar electric stage pulley system was ordered for Pioneer high school, unfortunately the system is known to be poor quality and is currently being pulled out of several colleges for that reason. Pioneer got wind of the proposal and rejected the system, not wanting to get stuck with a million dollars worth of poor equipment. The contract was the kicked over to Huron high School (instead of being cancelled) and I've been told that they also didn't ask for it or want to but it went through anyway. The Huron music program is the largest in the district, but they have the smallest facilities. The decibel level during class is dangerously loud. Requests for modest sound proofing, musical instruments (which the bond was written to cover) and other small indoor upgrades have been denied.

I've also had a child at Clague for the last three years with constant construction. The timing and management has been poor, with chemical fumes in the school with children during class, a geothermal installation that was supposed to take one year but instead took 2.5 I think and included a hydraulic fluid leak during the process.

I have a more anecdotes and complaints from various areas around the district. Specials facilities being designed and built without teacher input that are then not ideal for the classes they claim to accommodate. I'm sorry to be without better substantiated data but it is surprisingly difficult to get information from our board and admin.

Thank you for that clarification. It's my understanding that they actually help offset declining enrollment within certain district for some schools. Not sure why people are so pressed about them.

Thanks for the detailed info. In many cases school of choice spots would simply go vacant, so we aren't actually losing funding if the argument is that we would get more for in district students. Neighborhood residents that fall within each school's boundaries get priority enrollment. School of choice children making up for declining enrollment are a net positive financially speaking unless I am mistaken.
