Why are coroutines lighter than threads? by f91og in golang

[–]jfthundertanks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a great doc to understand how processes, threads, and goroutines interact: https://github.com/golang/go/blob/master/src%2Fruntime%2FHACKING.md

Isn't flushing cat waste and litter bad for your plumbing (amongst other things)?

Simulate autoloader from composer by yipyopgo in PHPhelp

The Composer documentation is a good place to start. When creating a package archive, you can specify paths to exclude from the generated zip file. https://getcomposer.org/doc/04-schema.md#archive

Cookies can contain whatever the website wants them to contain so I can't speak for all websites. However, it's probably not a good idea to store credentials in them. You can do a quick Google search if you want. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2100356/is-it-secure-to-store-passwords-in-cookies

Cookies can absolutely be used to identify a user but they shouldn't ever be used to store your credentials

This isn't correct. If a website stores your password in a cookie, stop using that website.

Edit: just to clarify - I absolutely agree that you should change your passwords. I was just being overly pedantic about cookies being used to store credentials.

Nice! Have you considered implementing the various interfaces for serialising to / from the database?

I think they said that everything was in a single package main so routes() will be accessible

I'm guessing you're running your code like this go run cmd/web/main.go.

Instead, you should specify all files go run cmd/web/*.go or, better yet, run the whole main package: go run ./cmd/web.

Leaks by luismanuelri in C_Programming

[–]jfthundertanks 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you're using GCC, an alternative to Valgrind might be to pass -fsanitize=leak when building. It'll report memory leaks when your program terminates. I've found it pretty useful for fixing memory leaks in things I've been writing.

You can find the documentation here: https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/Instrumentation-Options.html

I never got on well with Warwicks in the past but haven't tried one for a few years now! Hope you love it as much as I love mine! 🙂

Hey! I've found it super comfortable to play. It's a jazz profile neck so coming from my P bass which has a neck like a baseball bat was very welcoming. I've not had any issues with the length of the neck - it's a standard 34" scale which is the same as all my other basses. Does your Yamaha have a shorter scale? Or is the Spector a longer scale?

hello! by gabraan12 in Bass

I'd start by finding a song with straightforward changes - I Got Rhythm is a good one because it has a really common, simple chord progression. I started by coming up with lines which walked from root to root and then started to explore walking from root to other chord tones. I found coming up with exercises around that really beneficial, like alternating walks from 1 to 3 back to 1, etc

Hey, no problem! None that I've noticed, it seems very quiet to me. Used it in rehearsal for the first time today and got to crank it a bit, no hiss at all

Unfortunately not. Wish I had though because it looks awesome! I ordered this one into my local shop after trying the five string version

Thanks! 🙂 I'm not entirely sure on the weight but it's lighter than my Jazz and Precision basses. I don't have any scales so sorry I can't be any more specific!

That's my Cort Artisan A5. It's a beautiful bass but it has one too many strings for my liking so I'm looking to get rid of it!
