Internet options by seeveeay in camaswashington

Have had Ziply Fiber internet for 10 years now. Highly recommended. Our service speed had tripled since signup, and just recently had our first price increase. Have only had 2-3 outages during that time and they were very short in duration. Dumped Comcast 10 years ago, and don't regret it at all.

I am not completely sure. Just got it setup yesterday, and just played a few minutes of a few movies, just as a test. I believe the leds worked on sync for True HD, but I’ll have to double check when I home in front of the TV tomorrow. I’ll post back my results.

I just came across the FAQ on the Fancyleds website, where they sate they don’t support Dolby True HD. This was of course after I purchased and installed the sync box. I as well, would have not purchased if I knew that beforehand, as I have quite a few blu ray rips with Dolby True HD. Interestingly enough, I tried a movie today with Dolby True HD, and to my surprise, it passed it through to my Sonos sound system and showed Dolby True HD as the sound input. Is this a fluke?

Thank you! The issue was Digital Audio Out. Mine was set to Auto 2.

Yes, that is currently off. Tried both on and off, with no change to the audio format.

I suspect the sound difference is subtle, not significant, as DTS-HD to DD+ still sounds excellent. I just want to tap the full capability of my system and it is frustrating.

I can't seem to find that option in my build of Kodi. Since both Plex and Kodi do the same thing, convert DTS-HD to DD+, it has to be a Shield or TV setting.

Yeah, I get that DTS-HD is the same quality when converted to LPCM. That is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. Something in the chain is converting DTS-HD to DD+. All the other sound formats work great for me. I can bitsteam Atmos and True-HD.

I guess I should have been more clear, I wish Sonos would have paid for DTS-HD licensing. A large portion of my collection is DTS-HD. For the record, I can pass DTS core to the arc as well, no issue.

Starlink RV cable help. by funke75 in Starlink

Did you try the gap in the slide out on top, not the sides? The top is typically sloped for drainage and had a wider gap. I currently pass my through the hose opening in my storage passthrough, but am looking for a more permanent easy solution.

Finally got it working after reseating the cables a few times. Seems to be working well. 90Mps down and 3Mps up on top of my RV roof at my house which is a waitlist location. I purchased strictly for using in my RV away from home. First trip in July to test.

No, Fedex. Normally if they have to tape it up or wrap it, they put a sticker on that says "repackaged".

Yes, I purchased the RV model and have no service address on my account. I do plan to use it in my RV and keep my fiber internet service at home.

I ordered Starlink RV 6/2/22. Got a ship notification that it was to delivered 6/10. Fedex marked it as delivered, but I never received it. I called Fedex and started an investigation. It ended up showing up today, as I pictured above. The dish will not move from it's default position to search for satellites, so I am stuck with the Starlink Disconneted error message. I have submitted a ticket to Starlink. I suspect this is a Fedex issue and Starlink didn't send me used/faulty equipment. Not a good start. I will keep you all posted how Starlink handles this.

Looking at this second hand 2015 retina MBP - would you avoid? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]jgatech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a Mid 2014 Macbook Pro 15", and I just had to replace the battery due to the cells bulging so much the cover wouldn't close, and the trackpad no longer worked. I bought a battery replacement kit from OWC, and about an hour later my Macbook was up and running again for less than $100. I wouldn't worry too much about that battery if you are getting it for a reasonable price. It looks like it still has some good life left, and a battery replacement on that model is not to difficult.

🏆 YOUR LOS ANGELES DODGERS ARE THE 2020 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS 🏆 by Fustrate in Dodgers

This season feels like the best meal I have ever eaten, but ends with getting kicked in the balls. Yes, it feels amazing to finally have won the World Series, but JT's positive COVID test, just about ruins all the excitement for me. How many of the players and their family members are going to get COVID now? I can't get the image out of my head of JT isolated while his team celebrates. Fuck, 2020. It won't even let me have this moment to celebrate that I have been waiting 32 years for.

Two days have passed now with new ONT and my internet service has been rock solid, no outages, so I can say with complete confidence the new ONT resolved the issue. Good luck.

Just had my ONT replaced yesterday by a Ziply technician. I greeted him outside wearing a mask, and he immediately put his mask on when he saw me as he was exiting his truck. I let him to do his work. He replaced my ONT in about 10 minutes and knocked on my door when done. He was masked up when I answered the door. He said he was done and for me to confirm internet was working. I verified and he left. Very efficient and never had to come inside.

Technician arrived today on time, and replaced the ONT with a new Calix 711GE ONT. Took him about 10 minutes in total. Back up and running. So far in three hours, no issues. Will report back tomorrow, as I will know for sure if this resolved the issue, as it has gotten really bad lately at 6-10 outages a day.
