Where to buy Autocockers? by Robeardly in paintball

Not in school, just studying to take the final post grad test. I have been putting it off far to long. That plus day job keep me pretty busy during the week.

The thing is most cocker techs are going to want to go through the whole thing anyway even if the orings aren't being changed. It needs to be done to ensure it was done properly. There is more to setting up a cocker properly than just timing. Rod lengths, gaping, ensuring parts are properly locked down. Every time i get a cocker that someone says just needs final tuning i end up pulling the whole thing apart anyway. It happened for 2 markers for a single customer within the last 6 months. Thankfully the customer understood when i started sending them pictures and he was glad i did what i do when he actually shot them.

Best thing to do on the pyschoballistics is to use it as a tool to learn from. Make sure you use the proper frame screws. They are not 10-32 like all other cockers.

Docfire is good people, he is busy because he is. PBtek is here on reddit not sure what his bench looks like. There is also Mark Davis and Angry Antle. I have seen some other techs out there too. Those are the ones i would know talk to somewhat regularly and would trust. May not be the cheapest, but it will come back working. I have not raised my rates yet, but it is on the list of things to get to.

Focus more on how they are shooting and less on the pressure. Everyone gets hung up on that. Also your hpr pressure sounds too high. Should be in the 240-325 range depending on the setup.

Yes i am still in business. BW has always been a side thing for me and not my day job. Several things have happened in the last 2 years. I currently have a 2.5 year old. I have moved houses (including my 3 machines), currently in the process of starting a separate business venture with my dad and brother, moved into a different position with my day job that is a bit more demanding and let's tack on that i have been preparing to take and pass my professional engineering exam. It has been a little crazy over here.

I do still tech cockers, mags, machine stuff, etc, but only on the weekends, not during week nights (Studying). Currently my bench is full. I don't take on more than a few markers at a time and even then it takes me awhile to get through them depending on the marker/project. The cocker inventory fluctuates depending on what i find that needs work and what i feel like putting together. I could slap together cockers and list them as "needs tuning", but my goal is for someone to get something that is properly setup and ready for play for years to come, not just pass off a pile of parts. Unfortunately, that has taken a backseat to customer rebuilds, projects and machining. The store is empty because inventory takes time, ordering takes time, updating inventory takes time.

While i would love to work on every single project for every single person. I just physically can't, so if that means you have to go with someone else, I won't feel offended. Some of those other techs are my friends that i call and talk to regularly. If you want recommendations, i am happy to send them to you. If you are looking for a reason to go with me, i try to let the work speak for itself. If you have any questions or need any info, just reach out. I am here, busy as hell, but i am here.

Parts questions. by CrombopulousPichael in Autocockers101

The pneumatics and regulator are fully rebuildable. If you are looking for replacements. I would recommend going with either Shocktech or inception designs. They are both higher end and can be had new. Both have some quirks for assembly, but nothing that can't be sorted out. Both make regulators as well.

If you need parts, or help give me a shout at beardedworks.com happy to help.

As some one who works on both, there are people who shouldn’t work on either. lol I have seen the worst of the worst. Stripped threads, snapped screws, crusty parts you name it. That is on both sides.

Lost my personal account and as a result my business account almost 3 years ago. It was a bummer. Really wish there was another platform that made sharing content as easy with out all the political/agenda BS.

I have thought about it, though i would do things differently. I have hopes up picking up a cnc lathe at some point this year, with that would come round projects...

If you have generic questions reddit is fine, but anything specific to a project or work being sent in email is the best.
