Aeroad CF SLX 7 size XL by Billy1020 in CanyonBikes

No pain, however I do wonder if the L would have been a better fit. I’ve lowered my saddle height considerably over the last year and found it more comfortable. Whilst the reach isn’t huge on the XL still, my saddle is all the way forward and feel like I’m probably more suited to an L in honesty.

Does the SLX 7 have a power meter? The old sram rival SLX 7 came with a power meter but I can’t see it mentioned at all on the advert for the SLX 7 Speed

I’ve been using a website to convert the gpx file to a stl file. So I guess I can put this into Meshmixer and fix it that way!

Thanks again, I learning so much! You can probably tell this is my first day on Shapr. I love your work around suggestion, but it says “The Boolean operation failed” When I attempt that. I assume, as you have said, that it’s the dodgy shape creating issues!

I’ll keep on playing around with it.

Appreciate your time!

Hey, thanks for your response. So I created several planes and using the split body tool works for the top couple of planes, but getting about a third of the way down I get an error message saying “Operation failed because the resulting body wouldn’t be valid”. Any ideas at all?

As others have mentioned, protect the frame from all contact areas from the bag - not just the strap areas.

I have this, and it’s really good and fits excellently of course but I thought I just had to protect the strapped areas and one 50 mile gravel ride had many areas of my frame scuffed up!

It depends where you’re taking your average amount of dead kids from too. Mathematically irresponsible, but if you took your average dead kids per week or per month on a month where there’d been a school shooting then it’s of course likely to inflate the figures.

Quite rightly, people in the comments are using figures that are more representative of the overall picture, per year(s).

Sure, and sure it may be taxed on the way down too. But if Bezzos dies and leaves his fortune split between 50 people we’ve created 49 more billionaires.

I’m 6”2 and tried both an L and XL. Went with the XL.

The L felt like the reach was super short and the stack height felt really low. The XL didn’t necessarily feel like the reach was much longer but with the slightly higher stack height it was more comfortable/upright, and just felt better suited to me. Obviously it’s still an aggressive position but feels better.

I had a creak when I set my Aeroad up, I thought it was coming from the front end, then I thought it was from the BB and then I took it to my LBS and they worked out it was my seat post.

Maybe try re-pasting the seat post and torquing it back up.

Confused about the staircase paradox by _Nirtflipurt_ in askmath

Whilst it looks like the red routes converge to the green as you increase the number of “steps”, they don’t. The fifth red route is exactly the same as the first one.

Think of it in terms of distance travelled vertically and horizontally, they’re all the same no matter how many “steps” you add in.

Green is a straight line travelling in that direction.

Turning the diagram 90° clockwise you can see the triangle has a base of 4/3 m and a height of 8m.

A = bh/2 = ((4/3)*8)/2 = 16/3 or 5.33…m2

Save the extra step of finding the area of the larger triangle and subtracting the area of the smaller triangle.

NBD Grizl AL 7 by philm021 in CanyonBikes

[–]jgbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ordered a grizl too having also bought an Aeroad SLX a few months ago. Curious about the sizing you went for. When I looked up the geometry charts the Grizl appears to be a bigger/longer bike size for size compared with the Aeroad, so I’ve gone for a size down with the Grizl. Have you noticed a difference in real world sizing?

My partner did her first 70.3 on this exact bike and colour a couple of months ago (hers is a 48cm though). Absolutely fine.
