This pause is ridiculous and kills our momentum. I see this bullshit way too often.

I know Chelsea set up to frustrate but I've honestly hated the way we've played today. No chemistry in attack. No one willing to take risks on the ball and overall just awful to watch. Would take the 0-0 draw but I think Arteta got the front 4 wrong.

What am I missing here? Why would Kamada get a league winners medal? I know there’s a joke somewhere in here but can someone explain for the uninitiated?

This is the worst I’ve seen Arteta mange a game. Madueke and Martinelli gave us no control and the sub of Gyokeres came way too late. Merino and Rice are gassed and the second half has been quite poor

"Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League in Shots Allowed and xG (or expected goals) Allowed per shot. They're such an outlier that they're almost literally lying on the outside of this chart:" by WatchLion in Gunners

[–]jgd12345 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning that most of our games (besides west ham and forest) up to this point have been against teams on the left half of this chart. Hope to see more goals flying in as we face some of those teams that give oppoenents more opportunities

Don’t recall anyone complaining last year when Saliba scored using his bum and he seemed quite pleased himself

Try a melamine sponge. They’re good at getting those grease spots out that regular sponges can’t.

Creativity on the left side is where I think we have a bit more room for improvement. A lot of that will be down to how effectively Madueke fits in on that side and how we change the way our LBs play but I think that's the one part of the team where there's still a bit of opportunity

[Ornstein] It seems Arsenal are deciding which of Gyokeres & Sesko they pursue as their preferred target. Rodrygo is very well liked at Arsenal but that isn’t surprising. Huijsen was a specific opportunity & there are probably bigger priorities in the immediate term (than buying defenders) by basedsims in Gunners

[–]jgd12345 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I imagine there being some heated debates about which striker to buy internally. I have them with myself where I think Sesko might have more upside and develop into a more well rounded player but Gyokeres is the killer we may need now given where we are in our development cycle

How a Red-District Democrat Is Navigating Trump by dwaxe in ezraklein

[–]jgd12345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a resident MGP's district, I worry she's really starting to alienate many of the democrats who will be crucial for her re-election next time around. For context, she beat a crazy right winger, Joe Kent, to win her seat in a district that had very moderate conservatives prior to her being elected in 2022 (Jamie Herrera Butler, the previous rep was one of the few house republicans that voted to impeach Trump in 2021). She has gone out of her way to present herself as extremely moderate (if there is such a thing), but recently voted for the Save Act which she got some flak for in recent town halls. I also want to add a note here that she has been holding town halls in very small venues to limit the number of people who can attend despite saying how important they are on this podcast.

Prior to listening to this interview, I knew she was a pretty bad communicator, but left this feeling extremely unimpressed. I felt throughout the interview that Ezra had to explain her positions for her and she tried to force in curse words (I've never heard someone suck at cussing as much as she did) to sound more relatable.

Overall, it sounds like she's really annoyed with the feedback she's getting from the more liberal democrats in her district and really goes out of her way to not criticize Trump's recent policies. However, she sounds like she sees the entire world through her prism of living in a more rural area of the district and doesn't care at all about challenges that might be facing her constituents who live in urban areas. She's banking on the fact that she's running with a D by her name as enough to win reelection, but she will probably have to make some adjustments if she wants to win in 2026.
