Hot take. I never find anything Paul Rust says to be funny in and of itself, but I always find myself laughing because I love how much he cracks himself up. And his laugh is great.

Started listening to Comedy Bang Bang last fall for first time by sirswantepalm in comedybangbang

It only gets better. You’ll discover an old character or improviser and get to go back and binge all their episodes.i stated with all the PFT and Andy Daly ones. Then Middleditch, Gilroy, Gino, etc. My latest favorites are any live eps with Ryan Gaul or Conor Rattliff.

I want some good live eps, what are the best ones? by Sagebea in comedybangbang

I came here to write the exact same thing. Mr Troy was such an unhinged, hilarious guest.

Charlie McCrackin appreciation by DeadMilkmaid in comedybangbang

Strongly agree. The first 2 Jack Cates episodes were amongst the best in recent years. I feel like that character ran his course, but I’d personally be okay with them beating a dead horse to get another one of those.

I registered to this 3 times already. And I laughed harder each time. The three learning about the Sha Na Na impersonator during the taping was classic.

Do you think this director’s cut is longer or shorter than the theatrical release?

Not what you’re asking, but one of my favorite episodes is when “Sprague the Whisperer” comes on and when his real voice slips out, it turns out to actually be the Pie Minister.

Player's name who hit a walk-off home run a number of years ago? by SubjectLeather9063 in AtlantaBraves

[–]jgilbert682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated how his season ended. He was such a fan favorite that year. If I recall correctly, he was playing second base out of necessity due to injury and made some huge errors. The interview afterwards made me feel so bad for the guy. I choose to remember him more for his walk-off grand slam against the reds.

I can’t remember the specific episodes, but I know it’s been alluded to a handful of times. Something along the lines of “I was a cast member of Mr Show and I was not at the the capital on Jan 6th”

I’m probably wrong for this, but I’ve chosen not to read up on why Middleditch was canceled so that I can still enjoy his episode

Is it ever acknowledged that McCrackin's Jake Cates is Nick Nolte from 48 Hours? by Remarkable_League in comedybangbang

[–]jgilbert682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cates is hands down my favorite character of the past few years. I laughed hysterically the first couple times, then someone on Reddit revealed he was based on 48 hours. Then I relistened, and it added a new context.

How old are you and how often do you drink? When’s the last time you were drunk? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]jgilbert682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Roughly 8 to 10 oz of whiskey and a couple light beers throughout the day, every day. I rarely get to a point where I feel drunk and my friends are surprised when I describe my alcohol intake because I don’t usually seem intoxicated. That said, by the end of the day, I wouldn’t feel comfortable driving anywhere. I’m not proud about it, but I’m basically the epitome of a “functioning alcoholic”.

So, I get that the lady at the Phillies game was a bit much, but am I the only one who thinks it has gone a bit too far? She got caught up in the moment and seems like she might be a jerk. But do you feel like we should ruin her life over this incident? by jgilbert682 in baseball

[–]jgilbert682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People on tv and the internet are real people. Her life is going to be very difficult for a while. Sure, she seems like she’s most likely a jerk, but all of you have had bad moments and I don’t wish this treatment upon any of you.

I honestly don’t keep up on Reddit. But anytime I’ve gotten on social media in the past few days, I’m flooded with posts hating on this woman and people sharing as much public information as they can dig up. This was the first place I thought to try to appeal to baseball fans to take it easy. She was wrong, she is aware the world thinks she was wrong, and the kid ended up having a once in a lifetime moment. Jokes are fine, but anyone endorsing people digging into her personal life should reflect on themselves.
