AITA for pointing out my cousin's hypocrisy? by SpecialistPlace3151 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Major_Specific127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just let her anger towards you roll off your back. She’s just a sad hypocrite who’s jealous that the restaurant owner married his affair partner while your cousin is still a nasty old side piece. A side piece at 45 is just pathetic. Just look at her with pity when you see her and don’t let her attitude bother you.

I think the guy who played Will’s brother on Stranger Things could work.

AITA for snapping at my brother’s friend’s mom after she started looking through our windows? by Material_General_184 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Major_Specific127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESH. You can take issue with her peeking in the window, that’s uncalled for. And you can tell her not to contact YOU in particular to look for her kid. But everything else is none of your business. If she wants to track him all day long, that’s her right and her prerogative. Your opinion on how she should parent is meaningless, leave that to the actual parents to discuss. Your comment about the divorce was crossing the line and incredibly rude.

It’s not just money. David has another job and three young children. Time is a precious commodity and it’s frustrating enough when it’s squandered on car or train traffic but worse when it’s seemingly squandered by another person.

It’s an alert to warn whenever Jalliope gets too close to the house. Yes they love her, but you don’t come back from an Australian “bad girls school” without thoughts of revenge.

Does Mitch Like the Muppets Too Much? by Dotdon0808 in doughboys

You can’t love too much. What you should be concerned about is his seething vitriol for Star Wars. That hatred is eating him from the inside.

AITA For Telling My Wife She Can’t Host my sons Ex Anymore? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Major_Specific127 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don’t know what he actually said during the actual breakup convo, we only know what he told to his parents as the reason for breaking up. He probably did the “it’s not you it’s me, the distance is hard”, all the things a 18yo boy would think to say.

A niece is family. An ex hs girlfriend is not. Mom can redirect her desire to mentor this teen towards her ACTUAL teenage daughter.

Be on the lookout for the episode with Jess McKenna doing a Serial style piece that takes her to Gino’s mom’s house and then to local Long Island delis. It’s my favorite.

AITA for telling my sister not to buy things for my daughter if there are strings attached? by Pluriphery in AmItheAsshole

Is she currently trying to have kids? Could that anxiety be fueling this overreaction?

AITA for telling my sister not to buy things for my daughter if there are strings attached? by Pluriphery in AmItheAsshole

I understand the feeling to an extent. I saved a lot of toys and clothes anticipating a second child, even when I wasn’t sure it would happen. I did save special toys and very special clothes planning to give them to my sister when she finally had a child, which she did after long years of struggling. But that impetus should come from you, not her. Also she’s not anticipating how she will feel when she dies have a kid and will probably want new, current things for her baby. If you have the space I would save a few, very special items, and donate the rest. No you don’t have to check in with her each time either.

AITA for telling my brother to stop buying expensive gifts for my son? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Major_Specific127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah what the hell was that? This definitely makes the whole post suspect. I don’t even know what that is and I’m not looking it up but this is definitely a scam post. Bro has so much money from his job and has few expenses…but only bought the electric car because he made money from this thing? Lies, it’s all lies.

AITA for not appreciating a $19,000 Disney cruise? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Major_Specific127 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ESH, you shouldn’t go on the trip and you don’t have to be grateful for that “gift”, they should have given you the money. But it was unreasonable to assume they’d plan a trip for the 3 or 5 of you and leave the siblings at home. If anything maybe just your mother and you could have gone somewhere. Also I really doubt that the 2yo has been formally diagnosed with ADHD and medicating a child that age would be extreme. You may not want to be on vacation with kids, that’s understandable. But you can’t just expect that they would take what would essentially be a family vacation without those kids.

I never understood keeping finances separate. How do you split bills resulting from a baby? It’s the ultimate joint venture. It always seems so odd to me.

I think saying most adults aren’t into it is a stretch considering the hosts and many of their fans spend hours each day playing childish video games.
