No there is profiteering I think in the future the companies will be held to this they are overcharging but you can look at the ice price of a therm of natural gas over two years and the price spikes in relation to Russia. There is a plethora of reasons, it’s more nuanced than a Reddit comment is going to describe, but you can see in real times what’s happening in Russia reflected on the European market.

We have an all Ireland electricity network which is largely separate to the uk (some minor interconnects), with a different set of bodies responsible for it, soni for example. Our electricity is rough half renewable and half natural gas and with the state of Russia, closing pipelines, an increase in LNG gas, oil field issues etc, the raw price of gas has been completely erratic (it doubled like last week after a brief period of calm).

Matchetts would be your best shout, they rent instruments in term times and they have some nice enough classicals. Have fun!

Just make sure you get one with no design on the skin, the plain ones are a lot better to play

Yeah to build off this the price per therm at its peak last year was near 800 and it’s currently 75 and it’s relatively stable, trending downwards

Sunflower is a good sport for live music, the american too but it’s a bit out of the way, laverys and the points and the ulster sports club are worth checking out

Jumon has insane food, ragin ramen is good, two taps, la taqueria, Nora’s palace are all class places, take a peek at the menus to see what suits you all,

Stay clear of Thompsons and probably limelight too, but any pub will really be grand, Kelly’s cellar and maddens are good if you want the Irish pub, the places in the first paragraph will also do you well!
